Doesn't stand a chance in the (R) primaries. Less of a chance than Ron Paul, who has zero chance. He's not quite crazy enough for the conservative base.
Pro-choice?
Pro legalization?
Libertarian?
I don't think so, Tim....

Who do you thinks gonna win that? Anyways, that doesn't mean he can't be president... or does it?
He's not quite crazy enough for the conservative base.
Well, that's a good thing. But Democrats could vote for him too, couldn't they?
I hate our voting system and usually don't get involved, so I don't really know anything about it.
But, it seems that you think that if he doesn't win the Republican primary then there's no way he could be president. You're probably right, and that's a shame...
I guess I'll just abstain.

From what I understand from your voting system, it does. First you win the primaries, which basically makes you that party's nominee to run for president, meaning it's basically the party saying: "this is our guy, if you're a republican, vote for this guy". So, if you don't win the primaries, you'll not be able to run for that party. Sure, you could run as an independent, I guess, but they haven't got a hope in hell of winning your presidential elections.

Who do you thinks gonna win that?
I've no idea.
I hate our voting system and usually don't get involved,
I don't know that the voting system in paticular is flawed, but other factors that go into it certainly are, like voting machines that are knowingly hackable and knowingly skew results, the fact that candidates can accept money from corporations in whatever amount they wish, and that we are effectively limited to two parties (who are essentially the same).
But, it seems that you think that if he doesn't win the Republican primary then there's no way he could be president
Huntard already hit on this, so I won't divulge. However, even if he could obtain the presidency after losing the (R) primary, he is still a republican and A LOT of people vote based on whether they see a (D) or an (R) in front of the name and could give two fucks what he ACTUALLY stands for. had that not been the case, I highly doubt we would have an entire party who's SOLE goal is to get corporations and the uber wealthy as much money as possible and fuck everyone else.

Fuck voting.
You know who DOESN"T say fuck voting? Idiots who vote stupidly. Anyone with sense can see how the "system" is skewed against everyone that DOESN'T make millions of dollars and can see that it is almost a futile effort to vote. However, if you don't actually vote, you pretty well wave your right to bitch about it, seeing how you don't take part in it. I'm not saying this to you directly, so don't get all up in arms and start a fight.

I think you're right... and that sucks. Fuck voting.
You could vote Libertarian.
No, their guy won't win, but it registers the way you'd like the Republican Party to lean if they want to capture your vote. If enough people who felt like you did that then this would pressure them in your direction. Imagine if they had to placate the libertarians as much as they have to placate the religious right ...
... actually, what would happen then? I'm reminded of the old joke about the man who dropped a chameleon on a tartan rug to watch it die.

Is that really all that prevalent?
the fact that candidates can accept money from corporations in whatever amount they wish,
How do you stop people from giving money to people?
and that we are effectively limited to two parties (who are essentially the same).
Yup, that's pretty lame. More flaw.

So are both party's essentially the same or not?

Not even a guess?
Every day someone is "out" and a new someone is popular. The Republican presidential candidacy is a fucking high school popularity contest. I stake no claim in even guessing which of the morons will be crowned homecoming king/queen.
Maybe that Mitt guy?
Nope. He's mormon. The only people that like mormons live in Utah.
Something's flawed...
Sorry, I took your comment to mean the actual physical process of going to the booth and voting.
Is that really all that prevalent?
The fact that it happens AT ALL is too much.
How do you stop people from giving money to people?
You don't. However, corporations are not people.
So are both party's essentially the same or not?
When it comes down to the actual running of government, yes.
