I've been riding the subway a lot these days and I've taken to listening to podcasts to pass the time underground where I lose signal. I've been using iTunes and downloading to my iPhone.
But here's my problem, I'm a one dimensional asshole so all my podcast are comedy related - I want to branch out.
So what good podcast are out there that are FREE and on iTunes?
I currently listen to:
WTF with Marc Maron
The Joe Rogan Experience
The Monday Morning Podcast w/ Bill Burr
That's about it. Pretty shitty selection, although each of these podcasts are really hilarious. So I want something in politics, science, EvC debate, religion, philosophy, etc.
Anything interesting that you guys can recommend?
- Oni

Quirks and Quarks is a pretty good science podcast. It is an hour long weekly show on CBC radio.
WireTap also from CBC radio. It is very dryly humorous look into the life of a very neurotic jewish guy and his even more neurotic friends.
The Debaters from...wait for it...CBC radio. Each episode has two comedians debate various topics.
Ongoing History of New Music is a look at rock music focusing mostly from about 1990 forwards. Each episode deals with a different topic and occasionally the host sits and interviews individual bands.
Explore Music is by the same host as the Ongoing History but it focuses on new rock. He reviews albums and interviews the bands.

Best Science and Skeptical Podcast...
...has to be The Skeptics Guide to the Universe.
Percy actually mentioned it on EvC years ago and I have been listening to it ever since. They often have heavy hitters in the science and skeptical community on as guests. I have hunted for good, entertaining science podcasts and SGU is never beat. They are funny, informative, and well produced.
If you like comedy and music mixed in with your science/skepticism, you should check out the Geologic podcast. Don't let the name fool you, it has nothing to do with geology. The guy who makes it is named George (Geo for short). He was the MC at TAM9, has a bunch of skeptical music that you can buy, and is a generally funny guy. While aspects of the show are more music nerd than science, it is generally a very entertaining podcast. It also has moments of being profoundly deep.

BUT if objects for gratitude and admiration are our desire, do they not present themselves every hour to our eyes? Do we not see a fair creation prepared to receive us the instant we are born --a world furnished to our hands, that cost us nothing? Is it we that light up the sun; that pour down the rain; and fill the earth with abundance? Whether we sleep or wake, the vast machinery of the universe still goes on. Are these things, and the blessings they indicate in future, nothing to, us? Can our gross feelings be excited by no other subjects than tragedy and suicide? Or is the gloomy pride of man become so intolerable, that nothing can flatter it but a sacrifice of the Creator? --Thomas Paine

Radiolab and This American Life are important for shoring up your effete leftist credentials. Bill Maher puts out the audio track from "Real Time" on HBO. I listen to Leo Laporte's This Week in Tech, which is basically nerd gossip. Scott Kurtz, Chris Straub, and two other cartoonists put out a podcast (Webcomics Weekly, but it seldom is) about digital cartooning and distribution but it's more interesting than it sounds; they have insights about self employment, productivity, and creativity that I think you would find fairly relevant. That's what I listen to, anyway.

Hi Oni,
from the many suggestions above I know two and can also recommend them:
SGU (Skeptics Guide to the Universe)
RadioLab
And then there's Citizen's Radio (if you can get past the silliness). Will listen to the ones you and others listed as well. Oh and not to be forgotten: Big Picture Science
Another great one: Skeptoid: Critical Analysis of Pop Phenomena
