quote: crashfrog writes: What conservative has ever "held the line" on spending? Please be specific. Even Ronaldus Maximus grew the deficit and increased spending. What conservative president has had a lean spending Congress which creates the spending bills?
quote: crashfrog writes: Didn't we just learn that 85% of the OWS protesters were already employed? Yah, sure Employed by who? Who, besides rent-a-mob lefty organizations allows them time off to trash up and protest, defecating on private property, etc. The employers of many are highly funded rent-a-mob left wing organizations. crashfrog writes: What "homes" do you think there are on Wall Street? And what do Wall Street financial elites do to "earn their way"? Remember, just because someone pays you, doesn't mean you earned it. FYI there are thousands of residents. Many are complaining. So far as I'm aware, you're the only Dr Adequate around who could have posted your solution to the demands of the demonstrators. Apply my comments to your solution and go, figure. crashfrog writes: Right, it's ACORN. An organization that hasn't existed since it was framed by conservative for crimes it not only didn't commit, but that never actually happened. Somehow they've come from BEYOND THE GRAVE to, what, throw a few drum circles in some city parks? Same stinky organization, new name. quote: Read more: An ACORN by Any Other Name Still Smells Like an ACORN, Critics Say | Fox News

Panda writes: Maybe it's different in America, but in the UK we are allowed to take time off from work and spend the money we have earned. In America we are allowed to take time off from work and spend the money whe have earned also. In UK does this apply to time off for protesting rallies during normal work time? If so, please cite source.

Maybe it is different in America, but in the UK we can go wherever we want and do whatever we want when we take time off from work. You're doing a classic straw job, Panda. My point was that many of these protesters are there 24/7. Those have no jobs. No employer in UK or the US is going to just let them take normal work time off for that purpose 24/7. No? These protests are not spontaneous like the Tea Parties. They are well organized and planned by anti-capitalist entities. SEIU UNION BOSSES the 2ne largest union in the nation are organizing protests nationwide. Someone is providing the squatters with their needs Some of them are likely 99 week unemployed trashing up the property of the taxpayers paying their dime. BUZSAW B 4 U 2 C Y BUZ SAW. PMJC writes: Video clearly shows the police tossing some kind of device (that explodes, bright light and smoke) directly into the (small, unarmed, nonviolent) group trying to help an injured protester. So there's one gross violation.I've heard the OPD blaming the officers from "other" places for pretty much all of the bad behavior. Not OUR fault, must have been officers from Petaluma or Navato. It's clearly not the OPDs responsibility to make sure those reinforcements they've called in act in accordance with the city policies. That would be asking far too much. Seems to me the OPD should have been arresting the out-of-town officers then. Weren't they, too, breaking the law? The mobsters were not unarmed. They were armed with anything they could get their hands on including stones and fire extinguishers, etc etc. All kinds of dangerous stuff was being thrown at the officers. Given the radical left wing liberal atmosphere in Oakland, it must have been bad for the police and town fathers to stop the destruction violence and rebellion against law authorities. .Had it been in Iowa or Montana etc, one might expect the police to react. Had they not called in outside enforcement, likely they would've been over-run by the frenzied mobs. BUZSAW B 4 U 2 C Y BUZ SAW. Beginning with Muslim nations, the notion of rebellion is spreading globally. It's all indicative of implementing a globalist socialist New World Order. Note that Muslims are participating in the US protests. Assuredly they're active in many nations. This all goes well with the Muslim doctrine, beginning with Mohammed of global dominancy via procreation, violence and rebellion.
Sharia Islam is expanding globally, nation by nation, region by region and increased influence in the UN world body. This all pertains to fulfillment of the Biblical prophets regarding the end times and Armageddon. BUZSAW B 4 U 2 C Y BUZ SAW. Peter Schiff, is a businessman and financial commentator. He's the CEO of Euro Pacific Capital Inc CEO of Euro Pacific Precious Metals, LLC, a gold and silver dealer based in New York City.[13]
Schiff went down to interview the Occupy Wall Streeters to represent the 1% pro-capitalist constituency. He did a good job of articulating much of what a few of us of the minority PoV have been saying in this thread. BUZSAW B 4 U 2 C Y BUZ SAW. Moose writes: I (more or less) agree with the Schiff position - I don't know what portion of the OWS protesters also do. Corporatism = bad capitalism? The conservative push seems to favor big business and small government. Not so much collusion as a capture of government by big business. By the way, Buz - Do you consider it moral or immoral for an individual to be paid far more than he/she has earned? Schiff's position is not that corporatism = bad capitalism. Corporatism is an integral aspect of capitalism. Schiff repeatedly made the point that bad capitalism was government inter-meddling with corporate affairs, i.e. that big banks and any corporate entities should be allowed to stand or fail on their own merit, etc. Government subsidies/bailouts, just makes for more failure, having not fixed the reason for failure. One significant example of government inter-meddling with corporate affairs is the Community Investment Act.

ramoss writes: quote:-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What conservative president has had a lean spending Congress which creates the spending bills? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clinton! He decreased the deficit to the point that we actually had a very small surplus that COULD have been used to cut the debt, but Bush increased military spending and cut taxes, and blew that even before 9/11 It was Clinton's Republican Congress that, in spite of Clinton, that eliminated the deficit and spending.

crashfrog writes: Yes, but so is your Cato cite. I don't see any links to Congressional records, contemporary news sources, or anything else. Citing someone else's assertions doesn't prove anything. At least Cato's assertions asserted information. Your assertions asserted nothing; nada; not even anything relative to Cato's assertions. I'm waiting to learn from you what it is about Cato's assertions that you consider to be false. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------BUZSAW B 4 U 2 C Y BUZ SAW.
