Larni writes: Their acuity is not as good as ours but I would hesitate to say they have double vision. A lifetime of cats suggests to me that they are not so good at edges and objects, but they are phenomenal at detecting motion within their effective predatory range. Cats rule
According to the American Pet Products Association 2011-2012 National Pet Owners Survey, there are 86.4 million owned cats in the U.S. There are 78.2 owned dogs. We cat lovers are the majority. You...others...are abnormal. "If you can keep your head while those around you are losing theirs, you can collect a lot of heads."

Equally skewed by the Trailer Trolls who keep packs of pit bulls.
CS writes: Do they have numbers on the individuals who own cats or dogs?... and what about the "both"? Meh. Do your own research. I'm content with mine. Besides, dogs drool NB: I like dogs and drool sometimes, too. Edited by Omnivorous, : Drool "If you can keep your head while those around you are losing theirs, you can collect a lot of heads."

Okay, here's all they offered:
quote: The following statistics were compiled from the American Pet Products Association 2011-2012 National Pet Owners Survey. Dogs There are approximately 78.2 million owned dogs in the United States Thirty-nine percent of U.S. households own at least one dog Most owners (60 percent) own one dog Twenty-eight percent of owners own two dogs Twelve percent of owners own three or more dogs On average, owners have almost two dogs (1.69 percent) The proportion of male to female dogs is even Twenty-one percent of owned dogs were adopted from an animal shelter On average, dog owners spent $248 on veterinary visits (vaccine, well visits) annually Seventy-eight percent of owned dogs are spayed or neutered Cats There are approximately 86.4 million owned cats in the United States Thirty-three percent of U.S. households own at least one cat Fifty-two percent of owners own more than one cat On average, owners have two cats (2.2) More female cats are owned than male cats (80 percent vs. 65 percent respectively) Twenty-one percent of owned cats were adopted from an animal shelter Cat owners spent an average of $219 on routine veterinary visits Eighty-eight percent of owned cats are spayed or neutered
Grist for both mills there. Edited by Omnivorous, : Mills, that is "If you can keep your head while those around you are losing theirs, you can collect a lot of heads."

Re: Tremendous spacial self awareness.
Yes, that's only half abnormal. I was opposing a conservative dog owner with tattoos and flag decals on his truck with a liberal cat owner without tats, truck or flags. So as a cat sympathizer, you'd have to surrender some of your gang's colors. "If you can keep your head while those around you are losing theirs, you can collect a lot of heads."

Re: Cats rule
Larni writes: My avatar cat (Smudge) drools on me all the time when he is excited: ain't just mutts. The good thing about cats is they don't stink of dog. The stink thing is important. Our big cat, Sibyl, is a six-toed "mitten" cat. She never drools about food, but she does "well-up" about affection. Some things that seem the same are fundamentally different: For example, girl spit is radically preferable to boy spit. Cat drool is nothing like dog drool. My first dog, Dino, never drooled. He was, like foxes, a very graceful and cat-like canine. "If you can keep your head while those around you are losing theirs, you can collect a lot of heads."

Re: Good And Evil Entities
Panda writes: My cat never sees any invisible entities. Nor do mine: I've learned that when my cats seem to be tracking something invisible around the room, it's only invisible to me. On several occasions I've discovered the ghost to be extraordinarily tiny gnats. Once I found my most feral cat tracking a dust mote floating around on the room's thermals. She ate it.
