Re: People Rick Santorum Doesn't Like
Liberals, gay people
There's a difference between those two?
Of course we look at the shape of mainline Protestantism in this country and it is in shambles, it is gone from the world of Christianity as I see it.This, of course, he blames on Satan, which is hardly surprising given that that's who Catholics blamed for Protestantism in the first place.
I think in retrospect he will find that this is an opinion he would have done better to keep to himself.
I don't see what's so bad about what he said. I can't see how even a protestant would take issue with it? And he added "as I see it" making it a clear opinion.
Taking a single statement from someone and developing this entire persona around it is weak. Santorum is the only good one in the bunch, no need to be so petty, Dr. A.

"Rick Santorum's Despicable And Hurtful Health Care Lie"
An article from Forbes' health care policy reporter, Rick Ungar, explaining how Rick Santorum combines contemptible lying with the exploitation of his daughter, Bella, who suffers from the genetic disorder, Trisomy 18.

Palin made an identical claim a while back, I can't remember it exactly, but I think it involved claiming that the UK system had "death panels". Don't forget the claim made that if Stephen Hawking had lived in the UK he'd have been dead already

That depends on one's morals and values relative to the reasons for Morris's stance, whether it is compatible with the majority of American family values.
So long as there is an alternative organization for girls, more compatible to family values such as the American Heritage organization cited, I say conservative representatives should legislate on behalf of those who elected them.
God bless him! He's no wimp, nor has he effingly lost his way. It's about time we have leaders who will stand up for what's right.
Transgender, homosexuality and abortion have been considered deviant lifestyles throughout American history up until the gays came out of their closets in the 1960s. Transgenderism has proven to be problematic phenomena in public institutions. None of this has worked to improve upon human culture.
Throughout the history of mankind, these lifestyles have been prevalent in civilized cultures.
These people are lawful citizens and have rights. That does not mean that the values of those people must be supported by conservative lawmakers and policies of private organizations.
Morris's statement:
quote:
DISTURBING FINDINGS': SECTIONS OF MORRIS'S LETTER:
Dear Fellow Representatives:
This past week I was asked to sign a House Resolution recognizing the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouts of America. After talking to some well-informed constituents, I did a small amount of web-based research, and what I found is disturbing
The Girl Scouts of America and their worldwide partner, World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), have entered into a close strategic affiliation with Planned Parenthood.
Abundant evidence proves that the agenda of Planned Parenthood includes sexualizing young girls through the Girl Scouts, which is quickly becoming a tactical arm of Planned Parenthood. Denver Auxiliary Bishop James D. Conley of Denver last year warned parents that 'membership in the Girl Scouts could carry the danger of making their daughters more receptive to the pro-abortion agenda'.
Many parents are abandoning the Girl Scouts because they promote homosexual lifestyles. Of the fifty role models listed, only three have a briefly-mentioned religious background — all the rest are feminists, lesbians, or Communists.
Boys who decide to claim a 'transgender' life-style are permitted to become a member of a Girl Scout troop, performing crafts with the girls and participate in overnight and camping activities — just like any real girl.
The fact that the Honorary President of Girl Scouts of America is Michelle Obama should give each of us reason to pause before our individual or collective endorsement of the organization.
I challenge each of you to examine these matters and to decide carefully whether or not to sign the resolution.
Respectfully,
Bob Morris

Hawking is brilliant, famous and successful in multiple media.
He must be an American.
Palin has recently complained about U.S. media reports of Santorum dashing about crying, "Satan is coming! Satan is coming!"
In their topsy-turvy world, reporting what they say conclusively demonstrates your liberal bias.

Re: Santorum Backers Say the Darndest Things!
Transgender, homosexuality and abortion have been considered deviant lifestyles throughout American history up until the gays came out of their closets in the 1960s.
I'm not sure abortion has ever been a "lifestyle", as opposed to a medical procedure women get to terminate pregnancies, but regardless - abortion was a legal procedure in the United States until 1920, when New York, the last state where it was legal, banned the practice. The bans, of course, never had anything to do with "morality" but with suppressing the practice of midwifery to the benefit of (male) obstetricians. No society, not even ours, has ever considered the beginning of life to be anything but birth.
Don't believe me? Pull out your driver's license. You'll find that it calculates your age from the date of your birth, not from the date of your conception. Birth has always been universally recognized as the beginning of life in our society, even by those who pretend to believe otherwise.
Throughout the history of mankind, these lifestyles have been prevalent in civilized cultures.
Because tolerance and protection of those who are nonetheless "different" is the mark of civilization. The mark of barbarism is legal persecution of diversity.
Boys who decide to claim a 'transgender' life-style are permitted to become a member of a Girl Scout troop, performing crafts with the girls and participate in overnight and camping activities — just like any real girl.
I don't get it. Does this guy think that Girl Scouts do macrame with their vaginas?

The proper response to Morris's claim that "Boys who decide to claim a 'transgender' life-style are permitted to become a member of a Girl Scout troop, performing crafts with the girls and participate in overnight and camping activities — just like any real girl." would be "Thank God".

Yeah, it is just obnoxious when those uppity girls are taking their future and their destinies to their own hands.
With the risk of sounding condescending towards "morally conservative" women, I honestly believe that without the patriarchal "We know better" -attitude the world would be a better place. I mean, would you as a man be willing to lead your life based on age-old rules set 100 percent by others than your own gender? Women have to. Men are not forced to cover their heads, men are not told to remain quiet and men are not forced to carry the result of rape within their bodies. Sometimes I am ashamed to be a member of mandom.
I totally despise anyone claiming superiority over another human being, be it anothers religion, race, gender or sexual identity. Santorum and his backers are just those people - shining beacons of righteousness just because they are conservative christians.

Hi Jon,
men are not forced to carry the result of rape within their bodies
Ummm... not all women get raped, and not all rape victims are women.
And the "result of rape" as compared to consensual sex is the psychological damage of being an unwilling victim forced to do unwanted things. This applies to raped men as well as raped women.
Thanks.

No. .. not all rape victims are women.
On the other hand, there are no male rape victims that got pregnant because of being raped. If you know of one, I would love to see the medical reports on that.

That depends on what is being raped. If you mean our freedom and tv watching time, then sure, women have raped us of that for a long time.
