Yeah I have to agree with the judge, it doesn't seem like a racist joke at all. He plays the black angle as much as the white angle in the set up. And the punchline is refering to his mom being a whore fucking everyone at the party, and not about race.There's actual racism going on to be bothered with shitty joke emails. But, even though you and others complain about how sensationalized the news is, here you are doing the same over an email to a few buddies a judge sent. Wow, let's fire him forever.- Oni

He may have said that to "fix things" with the sensitive people who got offended but, that joke is not a racist joke. Anyone reading it un-biasly can tell it's a shot at his mother and not his race. So your statement that you agree with the judge, who acknowledged that the statement was racist, really meant that you agree with some unstated sentiment which you postulate that the judge really intended.And, no I don't agree that the joke was not racist or that bias is required to see that the joke is racist. No special sensitivity is required to see the racism.All that is necessary to come to that conclusion is to read the joke and what the judge said without any need to find an excuse for the judge.The whole point to the joke was that the woman got so drunk she screwed a black man and might have done even worse. Yes it was a slam at his mother, but it was also racist. You are welcome to believe otherwise, but I doubt you'll convince anyone who isn't looking to excuse a judge.

It was a shot at his mother because she had sex with a black man which is only one step up from having sex with an animal, according to the joke.

I agreed that it was a joke between friends, like he said. But the part of it NOT being racist is all me. I didn't see it making any point of someone screwing a black man specifically. I think you're digging too deep. It's a joke about a woman being so slutty and screwing everybody at the party, black, white or green, to include even a dog. But it's about the president who is of mixed race, so there had to be a premise to the joke: A kid curious about the difference in color between his mom and him. That set up is the only reason it can be construde as racist, but it's not.Maybe if the joke included green it would have been taken as less racist. Just to be clear, if he was sending what he felt was a racist joke to some friends, I would totally be ok with that. I can't see why anyone would. We all have exchanged racist jokes between friends. Shit, if we can't do that we've gotten way too PC about things.Racism in jokes is hilarious.- Oni

Perhaps the analyzing of a joke is best done on another thread. Maybe some-one can re-open the thread "Humor and Gender". There was some nifty forensic work on a "rape joke" sometime back. (The dissection became so involved, it sometime resembled a team of scientists working on the Zapruder film.)

He posted the joke, for what reason I don't know. However, the whole premise of the joke being racist is up for debate at that point.I don't know how you want to handle that, I'd request some action taken by the mods but, that's just me.- Oni
