Re: Rick in Louisiana
You should stop using IP over Avian Carriers and get a proper connection instead.
Besides, the picture is only a waste, if you have no interest in the Republican primaries, the top candidates and their battle with each other.

Thats the minimum required by CNN. The next step is hologrammes, but i dont know if the EvC software supports that yet..

Maybe Rick, Mitt, Newt and Ron should be asked
do they support this bill?
Wisconsin GOP Leader Proposes Legislation To Blame Single Parents For Child Abuse And Neglect
quote:
Wisconsin State Senator Glenn Grothman, the Assistant Majority Leader and a close ally of GOP Governor Scott Walker in the effort to destroy collective bargaining in the Badger State, is taking crazy to new levels.
Grothman has introduced a bill that would require the State of Wisconsin to officially deem single parenthood to be a contributor to child abuse and neglect and to put the same into statutory laws of the state.
... The bold lettering represents the amendments to the existing law that Senator Grothman has proposed for addition:
Section 1. 48.982 (2) (g) 2. of the statutes is amended to read: 48.982 (2) (g) 2. Promote statewide educational and public awareness campaigns and materials for the purpose of developing public awareness of the problems of child abuse and neglect. In promoting those campaigns and materials, the board shall emphasize nonmarital parenthood as a contributing factor to child abuse and neglect.
Section 2. 48.982 (2) (g) 4. of the statutes is amended to read: 48.982 (2) (g) 4. Disseminate information about the problems of and methods of preventing child abuse and neglect to the public and to organizations concerned with those problems. In disseminating that information, the board shall emphasize nonmarital parenthood as a contributing factor to child abuse and neglect.

I guess when you elect whacko nutjobs to congress, you get whacko nutjob legislation.
Enjoy.

That's It, Then?
So for practical purposes that's it. Though we can still continue to mock Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich.
The people have spoken. The guy the Republicans want for their candidate is the guy who they thought isn't as good as the guy who they thought isn't as good as George W. Bush, a moron. I'm sure they put as much thought into that decision as they did into every other decision.
Obama will, of course, cream him, but that would be a subject for the Awesome American Election Thread ... pending.

I think discussion of probable running mates might fit in this thread. If not, it might be worth starting.

Michelle Bachmann would certainly fill that role.

Vice Presidential material or is that materiel?
Nikki Haley seems to have some skeletons in her closet. So that would be a perfect choice for the Rethugs.

The smart move would be a less polarizing running mate from a swing state with good christian cred (possibly a woman and/or minority). Romney will be a lot smarter than McCain was, that is for sure. Romney should run on a platform of being a smart business man and his VP pick should reflect that. IOW, time to shake the Etch-A-Sketch.

I can't see Mittens not choosing someone to mollify the more conservative wing of the Republicans who are holding their noses at having him as their candidate.

I'd nominate Senator Susan Collins myself, but I know the extremists want someone extreme.
