The essence of argumentation and debate is starting from evidence and using reasoning to come to a conclusion. You guys claim you have all the evidence but you never bother to connect the dots from evidence to conclusion. If you do, the conclusion is not the same from one year to the next. It is a moving goal post. This does not even touch on the fact that the reasoning that you do use is circular more often than not, and when it isn't circular, it is so full of holes it can not hold water.

from my huge problem with creationist thinking
The following is from Dr Adequate on that closed thread.
No-one's out there trying to find evidence that snakes could once talk,
Perhaps snakes didn't talk through speech with sound waves. Ever considered that possibility? The spiritual realm was intermeshed with the physical realm at that time. Christians still communicate with God spiritually today, even though no audible speech is used.

Give me one delusion that is counterfactual. Every claim I made was a result of my personal experience with atheists and theistic evolutionists over the past 3 years.

Almost every cell division resulted in a at least a few mutations, yet cancer is rare.
Can you provide a link that shows that every time a cell divides, it possesses new mutations?

Re: Silly creationist story
See the Wikipedia article on mutation rates.
--Percy
There is nothing in that article which supports your claim that mutations occur roughly everytime a cell divides.

The human genome has about 3.2 billion sites (base pairs), so doing the multiplication we find that the number of mutations that can be expected in every newborn is about 35. The odds of a newborn with no mutations is (1 - 1.110-8)3.2109, which is about 510-16 or less than one in every quadrillion births.
What I am missing here? How do you logically move from the chances of a newborn having zero mutations in one of every quadrillion births to somatic cells in a living human being mutating everytime they divide?

wikipedia writes:
the human genome mutation rate is similarly estimated to be ~1.110−8 per site per generation.
When you multiply the size of the human genome by the mutation rate per site per generation you get 35 mutations per genome per generation. How many cell divisions occur in one spot in the human body in a 20 year generation? If it is significantly greater than 35 than you don't have a mutation roughly occurring everytime a cell divides. For example if one spot in the body has cell division occurring 3500 times in a 20 year period, you have mutations occurring one time in every 100 cell divisions.
