Re: Chuck77 about the geologic column
Only gave these a brief reading, but I second the nomination. It is rare for anyone on either side of the debate to graciously accept that an argument from the other side has some validity. Here's the links:

Dr Adequate, at "The Flood, fossils, & the geologic evidence"
Author: Dr Adequate Forum: Geology and the Great Flood Thread: The Flood, fossils, & the geologic evidence Message #: 250 A short little message, with 8 key (bolded by me) words:
The question is, what results would Noah's flood have had if it had happened? I think not very much (in geological terms, biogeography is a whole other question). Many creationists present "the flood" as being able to do vast amounts of most anything. The non-creationist side, while not remotely going as far, still have expected a considerable impact that should be still see-able. Of course, we (the non-creationist side) are arguing about the evidence or lack of evidence for a young Earth concept event, from our old Earth perspective. As such, what impact is a 1 year event going to have upon the Earth's geology? Dr. A thinks not much, and I'm inclined to agree. But it's not unlike arguing how many angels can dance on a pinhead, when we can't begin to agree on how big the pinhead is. Back to the topic in question, if this detail is to be debated further. Pressie, at "What's the creationists thought on this?"
Pressie, message 90 in "Topic: What's the creationists thought on this?" A lovely illustration of how liars take advantage of knowing their audiences - Peczis has complete confidence that his audience won't look up any references at all! Edited by Adminnemooseus, : Add link and add subtitle.

Dr A Handicaps 2012 (AKA The End of the World tm)
Author: Dr AdequateForum: Coffee HouseThread: The Awesome Republican Primary ThreadMessage #: Message 1 Painfully, painfully funny and incisive commentary on the Krazee Klown Show that is GOP 2012. Only 16 more months to go! Two of my favorite profiles:
Dr Adequate writes: Michelle Bachmann. Either the dumbest person in the world or a gifted performance artist. Beloved by the insane wing of the Republican Party, because she is insane, and by liberals for exactly the same reason. Started her official campaign by claiming to be possessed by the spirit of a serial-killer clown, which she probably is. ...
Rick Santorum. How shall I put this? If you asked a liberal Hollywood screenwriter to invent a Republican politician, this is what he'd come up with. Except the bit where he called for "tougher penalties" for hurricane victims, which would be considered somewhat far-fetched even by Hollywood standards. He is rumored to blight the very earth he walks on so that no flower will ever bloom there again, and to kill puppies by thinking about them. Your beliefs do not effect reality and evidently reality does not effect your beliefs. -Theodoric Reality has a well-known liberal bias. -Steven Colbert I never meant to say that the Conservatives are generally stupid. I meant to say that stupid people are generally Conservative. I believe that is so obviously and universally admitted a principle that I hardly think any gentleman will deny it. - John Stuart Mill

Seconded, what a zoo.
The idea of the sacred is quite simply one of the most conservative notions in any culture, because it seeks to turn other ideas - uncertainty, progress, change - into crimes. Salman Rushdie This rudderless world is not shaped by vague metaphysical forces. It is not God who kills the children. Not fate that butchers them or destiny that feeds them to the dogs. It’s us. Only us. - the character Rorschach in Watchmen

Chuck77 & M. Report, at "What is the creation science theory of the origin of light?"
Author: Chuck77 Forum: Big Bang and Cosmology Thread: What is the creation science theory of the origin of light? Message #: 7 The first paragraph:
Do you want us to propose one? Are you forcing us to come up with a "light" Theory? There isn't one that I know of. If you're trying to say we have no proof of what the Bible says fine, but until someone proposes a theory for "and God said" then it's silly to suggest we propose one for you just so you can "point and laugh". Chuck77 went on to say more. The highly dubious topic should have ended there. Author: Minority Report Forum: Big Bang and Cosmology Thread: What is the creation science theory of the origin of light? Message #: 41 The first paragraph:
How many times do we have to tell you before you will understand. There is no creationist theory on how God created light. There never will be a theory. There cannot be a theory. MR goes on to quote a bunch of members, starting with Chuck77 at message 7, who said essentially the same. The still highly dubious topic really should have ended there. But it lives on. Moose Professor, geology, Whatsamatta U Evolution - Changes in the environment, caused by the interactions of the components of the environment. "Do not meddle in the affairs of cats, for they are subtle and will piss on your computer." - Bruce Graham "The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness." - John Kenneth Galbraith "Yesterday on Fox News, commentator Glenn Beck said that he believes President Obama is a racist. To be fair, every time you watch Glenn Beck, it does get a little easier to hate white people." - Conan O'Brien "I know a little about a lot of things, and a lot about a few things, but I'm highly ignorant about everything." - Moose
