Buz was as kind as he was cantankerous.
 When I was sick, he contacted me with heartfelt wishes for my recovery; when I aimed my most withering snark at his beliefs, he defended them stoutly and smiled. He was never hateful to me, and managed to act as a warrior for his faith in a way that I thought was all too rare and sweet. I cannot believe in your God, Buz--but I still hope you were in heaven a half hour before the devil knew you were dead.
