CoolBeans et all - the "If a mythical creature such as a griffin existed....." topic
Author: CoolBeans and the other participants
Forum: Biological Evolution
Thread: If a mythical creature such as a griffin existed.....
Message #: Various
CoolBeans managed to pull off a rare trick - Launching a fresh idea topic.
The question is "What effect would a massively anomalous creature's existence have on the theory of biological evolution"?
Once again, 12 years into this forum's existence, a fresh topic that I think was not really covered before.
Or something like that.

Good links, good comments, or something like that.
Basically, I was impressed that there was some real data there.

I'm semi-drunk right now and basically don't give a bleep about cosmo-physics, but others at the topic seem to think this is a particularly good message. But they didn't give it a POTM nomination.
Maybe I'll actually get back there again and read more of the message, when my one active brain cell is once again operating correctly.

Thread: Which animals would populate the earth if the ark was real?
Message #: 222
I really liked the following paragraph, especially the bolded part:
If you disagree with the time frame, then you disagree with all geology. You have swept away the very foundations of the discipline. You need a whole new explanatory framework. You can't just pick and choose as is convenient.
Minnemooseus gave the message a (+) and a POTM nomination.
Adminnemooseus gave the message a (-) for the general snarky/nasty tonality of the message.
Some good content but presented in a distasteful way.

This message was back in January 2014, but messages were piling up fast and I totally missed it. Now I've added the 10th (+) to it.
Just epic (not epoch). Maybe the entire Depositional Models of Sea Transgressions/Regressions - Walther's Law topic in one message (and more).
Probably up there with the best evcforum.net messages ever.

Another dwise1 rerun, but a fine one.
The creationist side gets their wish to have both evolution and creation covered in the same class, and suffer the adverse consequences. The creationist side then gets their wish that the class be shut down.

On the whole theist, atheist, agnostic thing, his message in its entirety says:
I'm just an atheist. I do not believe in god(s). No one has knowledge of god, we only know whether we belief in god or not. The term agnostic is therefore redundant and misleading.
