Unfortunately for you, the work of specialists on a subject, where the research and publications of those people are published with all the data obtained, in scientific journals, cannot be ignored.
Your opinion can be ignored. The opinions of cave-dwellers certainly can't be taken seriously in the modern world. You're uneducated. Your opinion is not important at all. Whether you like it or not. Edited by Pressie, : No reason given. Edited by Pressie, : No reason given.

The problem is that even if that were true it would be worthless information as an answer to the question and we would be left as totally clueless as we were before as to the answer to the question. Now science can provide us with an answer to the question that does not leave us clueless.Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Given the evidence you've presented, you're akin to a forensic anthropologist who concludes, "We have a body, therefore it was murder." "... and the murderer was Ferdinand Q. Mulberrybush, a three-legged man with purple hair and a pet unicorn ... what do you mean, you can't locate anyone fitting that description? Look harder!"

I have more knowledge than I had before. But not as much as you need.

I just read this in a book called 'why does e=mc2' it is co authored by a prof in particle physics and a prof in theoretical physics. They sum up nicely my very round about descriptions of the complexity of the brain ands its relation to nature. 'our civilization is all pervasive, and yet 21st century physics tells us that at it's heart, it is all a mathematical dance involving a handful of subatomic particles, organised by only four forces of nature over 13.7 billion years. The COMPLEXITY of human BRAINS and the products of the powerful synthesis between consciousness and dexterous skill that we glimpse outside our windows mask the underlying simplicity and elegance of nature. The scientists task is to hunt for those properties that act as a rosette stone, to allow us to decipher the language of nature and reveal its beauty.' The main point of this whole thread was to show that though the universe is relatively simple to explain, thought, cognitive action and all human emotion are also a product of and a part of that existence. The human brain contrary to what some of you say IS the most complex thing in the known universe and the vast majority of those brains (people) believe in some form of God, so why isn't that overwhelming majority taken seriously from a scientific point of view as 'evidence' for God? One reason is that the human brain's overwhelming task is to manage the body's activities, just to keep it alive. That's why a chimp's brain is only marginally less 'complex' (whatever the hell that means) than a human's and in many respects more so. As far as I know chimps don't believe in God so maybe you should add them to your atheist count. Now, how about cetaceans? They're pretty damn complex too. It seems the topic is going down the evolution/evidence creation/no evidence route.
It is scientifically possible for their to be a God fact. The theory of evolution and all of its very real evidence, show how one form of life changes into somthing different or splits into a different type making multiple's, all through various processes. It doesn't deal with how it all started, and cant even get close to describing how it all started, life has evolved from non life that is fact, non life evolved from the big bang fact. Where does the theory of evolution explain the origin of energy and matter and space time? Anything relating to the origin of the big four is at best a guess so far. The scientific truth is that origin hypotheses come before evolution theory, which in a way even debunks the very notion of this whole forum. |

How the heck do you know what a chimpanzee thinks?

The best gift an atheist can give a believer is when they fall behind with the ever changing evolution of science. They start quoting yesterdays news as if its tomorrows.

divermike1974 writes: Firstly, because an Argumentum ad populum is a very bad argument. The human brain contrary to what some of you say IS the most complex thing in the known universe and the vast majority of those brains (people) believe in some form of God, so why isn't that overwhelming majority taken seriously from a scientific point of view as 'evidence' for God? Secondly, I don't know why you would even try an Argumentum ad populum, because it works against you. Only around 33% of the World population present themselves as being Christian. So, around 67% of the world population don't believe in your chosen God or Gods. Around 50% of Christians are Catholic. This means that around 16.5% of the world population are Catholic. And around 16.5% of the world population are all those different Protestants, Eastern Orthodox, Greek Orthodox, etc. Muslims around 21% of the world population. Hindus around 13% of the world population . Non-religious people around 13% of the world population. The country you live in, divermike1974, is not representative of the world population. Think before you write. An Argumentum ad populum doesn't work for you.

The main point of this whole thread was to show that though the universe is relatively simple to explain,... Any qualifications in the subject? Thousands of people from all over the world do have excellent qualifications on the subject. They studied it for many, many years. Professionally. Do you think that you know more than all of them together by reading a book or two?
