1. The letter 'U' will be reinstated in words such as 'colour,' 'favour,' 'labour' and 'neighbour.' Likewise, you will learn to spell 'doughnut' without skipping half the letters, and the suffix '-ize' will be replaced by the suffix '-ise.' Generally, you will be expected to raise your vocabulary to acceptable levels. (look up 'vocabulary'). And most important, all words ending in "a" need to be pronounced as ending in "er". Examples - Dali Lamer, Barack Obamer. Moose

A man goes to a costume party carrying a girl on his back. The host asks him, "Why aren't you wearing a costume?"
"I am," the guest replies. "I'm a tortoise." "What's that on your back then?" the host asks, pointing at the girl. "That's Michelle."

Correct English goes like this: you drop the "r" at the end of a word which possesses one unless it precedes a vowel. So "I have a daughta" but "I have a daughter and a son." The "r" is conjured into existence by the "a" in "and".
Incorrect English also drops the "r" at the ends of words that have one unless it precedes a vowel; but it also adds an "r" at the end of words that don't merit it because of not having an r in them when they end with a short unstressed vowel sound and when they precede a vowel, as though they were words like "daughter". So someone who says "I like Obama" would say "I like Obamar and Biden"; someone who says "The Dali Lama lives in Tibet" would say "The Dali Lamar is Tibetan"; Samantha makes me hot" but "Samanthar is a babe". But no-one just slaps on an "r" willy-nilly; if it happens at all it only happens before a vowel. If you listen to someone speaking incorrect English they will still drop more Rs that you think should be there than they will add Rs that you think shouldn't.

In case it wasn't guessed, I get my impression of the English English from the BBC via NPR.
And I was shocked, I say shocked, when Obama(r) was first elected president. The BBC people were actually pronouncing the name without the "r" at the end. At least that's how I recall it. I guess the powers that be (the ones that know their Rs from a hole in the ground) told them to get their "Rs" back where it belonged. And for whatever it's worth, they pronounce the "r" as "er" (err), not as "ar" (are). So phonetically, Obama would be "Obomer" not "Obomar". Now, is there some sort of connection between how Bostonians drop the "r" at the end of words while the English add "r" ant the end of words. In Boston, "bomber" would be "bomba" (Richie Valens must have been from Boston) while the English would sing "La Bamba" as "La Bamber". So are some of the English, as I have pointed out. All English people would say "bomba" unless it preceded a vowel, and no English person, however depraved, would actually sing "La Bamber" unless "Bamba" preceded a vowel.

I lived in Mass (Ayer) for a few years when I was around 9.
My sister's name is Carmen. I remember the locals would pronounce it: " Cah-men." Just one of those New England things. "You were not there for the beginning. You will not be there for the end. Your knowledge of what is going on can only be superficial and relative" William S. Burroughs |

That should be, "I have a daughter, eh."
So "I have a daughta" but "I have a daughter and a son."

Saw his snarling mug in the news lately--he's going to meet with GOP leaders in Congress to offer advice about ISIS. Uh oh. I can't remember if I've posted this before. If I did, you get to laugh twice, so it's all good.

All English people would say "bomba" unless it preceded a vowel Unless they are rhotic speakers such as with some areas of BlackbuRn. In which case you hit all the 'r's - there aren't many regions that do this though.

Ya'll talk funny.
Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison.
