On Wednesday afternoon, the European Space Agency made galactic history when their Rosetta Mission successful landed its Philae probe on a speeding comet, the first time such an extraordinary feat has been achieved.
As with everything from the moon landing to the death of Elvis, an alternative version of what really happened as the Philae probe landed on comet 67P did not take long to emerge.
According to an email published on the website UFOSightingsDaily.com — which does a regular trade in alien sightings — this mission is part of a European Space Agency and Nasa cover-up to disguise the comet’s true alien nature. The email, allegedly from a secret whistle-blowing employee of the ESA, accuses the agency of blatant cover-ups in wanting to land on the speeding comet and attaches photos which claim to reveal the true inner workings of Comet 67P.
It states: Do not think for ONE MOMENT that a space agency would suddenly decide to spend billions of dollars to build and send a spacecraft on a 12-year journey to simply take some close-up images of a randomly picked out comet floating in space.
Comet 67P is NOT a comet, the letter continues. Some 20 years ago Nasa began detecting radio bursts from an unknown origin out in space. It would later be known that these had likely come from the direction of the now named comet 67P. It does show signs on its outside of machine like parts and unnatural terrain.
Ending on an ominous note, it adds: Whatever this object is, it did not ask to be found or scrutinised.
Commenting on the article, contributor Scott Waring also said he believed the signals being emitted from the comet were a greeting to humans. If it was a warning, they would not allow the ESA craft to have landed he wrote. I believe the landing of the ESA craft was the equivalent of a first handshake. They will make another move soon probably. Alien structures are on the comet. I don’t believe it’s natural.
Yet this is far from the only extra-terrestrial conspiracy theory put forward about 67P and the ESA mission. In September, BPEarthWatch published a video showing brand new, hi-res images. Taken from the Rosetta spacecraft, they appeared to show two UFOs flying over the comet and a transmission tower-like structure built on the surface, potentially emitting the mysterious radio signals which have been picked by the ESA. These images are not normal, says the video voiceover.
ESA’s confirmation that the comet had been emitting a mystery song has fuelled theories that it is in fact an alien ship and the warbling is an extra-terrestrial attempt at communication.
Writing on the website UFOSightingsDaily.com, Scott Waring professed that: In my opinion this is not a code. It is how a species of aliens communicate to one another without speaking. A form of telepathy put into primitive radio signals. Its the only way this species can communicate to us. This is their thoughts. They don’t talk.
Waring added: Getting a copy of the full message and then translating it should be of utter importance. Is it a message of greetings? Or is it a warning of what’s to come? We, the people of the world, need to find out.

Megan Fox....No, not that one.
After watching all the way through this 30 minute video of this creationist ranting throughout the Field Museum (a wonderful museum, by the way), I felt two things. First, that I would never regain the brain cells that had purposefully killed themselves to stop listening to her complaining. Secondly, I feel absolutely sorry for this woman's children as they are most assuredly going to be behind other children their age because of the terrible education they are receiving from their mother.
She went to the Field Museum, and from the fact that she did not once ask a docent for clarification on claims made on plaques, you can tell that there was no interest in actually learning the science, just ranting about scientific biases. Let's have her explain what her video was about.
Dan Arel quoting description of Fox's Video on YouTube writes:
In November 2014, Megan Fox toured the Field Museum’s ‘Evolving Earth’ exhibit to audit it for bias. She found many examples of inconsistencies and the Field Museum’s insistence that people support opinion as fact without proof. The Field Museum pushes certain theories as if they are absolute proven law when that is not how the scientific method works.
My favorite is that the video opens up with her not even being able to pronounce the word "Eukaryotes". Seriously, you are going to critique the information that has been gathered over hundreds of years by scientists and laypersons, yet you can't be bothered to learn the most basic terminology from the field. Utter hubris shown right from the start.
Dan Arel writes:
Perhaps if you cannot pronounce eukaryotes you have no business critiquing biological sciences. She also claims that dragons exist, but that scientists are covering up the evidence because, it would throw off their whole time line of what they want you to believe.
So, here is my nomination for loony of the week. If you can stomach the absolute horrendous ranting about "why are there still monkeys", "was there a video camera there", or "telling my kids that dinosaurs aren't dragons will destroy their imagination" then sit down and prepare yourself for a half an hour of stupid.

Seen it.
Died a little inside.
What a bellend she is.

The above ontological example models the zero premise to BB theory. It does so by applying the relative uniformity assumption that the alleged zero event eventually ontologically progressed from the compressed alleged sub-microscopic chaos to bloom/expand into all of the present observable order, more than it models the Biblical record evidence for the existence of Jehovah, the maximal Biblical god designer.

Re: Megan Fox....No, not that one.
I watched the first seven minutes. Megan Fox's continually repeated question, "How do they know?" is a good one. The displays present what we know, not how we know it, and wanting to know how they know it is a good thing.
But in Megan Fox's hands the question becomes inane because she fires it at literally everything. For her the question is rhetorical because she assumes these are things impossible to know and that there are no answers. Her question should be reflected back at her: "How do you know that we don't know and that these are things impossible to know?"
Were Megan Fox to ask her question of actual scientists instead of the text on inanimate displays she'd find there are ready answers. Not that she'd accept them, but she could no longer claim that scientists are just making it up.

Tina Fey seems like a very giving and wonderful person. Perhas in the name of everything good, she would be kind enough to do a parody of Megan Fox so that the rest of the world can find a way to stomach the stupid.

This is wonderfully stated, and we see it here all the time:
David Dunning writes:
If you’re incompetent, you can’t know you’re incompetent...The skills you need to produce a right answer are exactly the skills you need to recognize what a right answer is.
But what we often see in creationist behavior is a sort of forced or unconsciously imposed incompetence. Most creationists seem perfectly competent at figuring out most things, but when it comes to things that challenge their religious beliefs they suddenly adopt a different set of analytical rules where evidence or consecutions are weighted by how well they lead to conclusions consistent with their beliefs.
And experience here reveals that we behave the same way when we believe something very strongly, e.g., discussions on guns and economics.

... a sort of forced or unconsciously imposed incompetence. ...
Cognitive dissonance and conflict with personal world view make the contrary information difficult to pay attention to let alone understand.
And experience here reveals that we behave the same way when we believe something very strongly, e.g., discussions on guns and economics.
Indeed, among other things.
This is the most difficult barrier to these debates for this reason, and I don't really hold others responsible for hitting it.
This can also be why conversion\disillusionment\epiphany can be traumatic for styrong believers.
