By my reading of the aggravating factors in SC law, this decision is exactly in accordance with the law. I don't see a single one of the statutory factors that would count towards the death penalty. In fact the officer would not have been eligible for the death penalty under SC law if he had simply emptied his revolver into Scott at first sight.Edited by NoNukes, : No reason given.

Absolutely ! Though we do need to make sure that it's more guns in the hands of the righteous - because we've all seen the films - a single righteous man (or really hot, martial arts kind of woman) can kill any number of really bad guys, without getting killed (or even badly wounded) him or herself, and without killing even a single righteous person themselves, by accident.And you can't tell me them films aren't realistic !
