Prehistoric Utah Rock Art Does Not Depict a Pterosaur, Study Confirms – Western Digs
Dealing what they say is a mortal blow to the interpretation of some creationists, a team of archaeologists has concluded that a panel of rock art in Utah portrays all manner of fantastic figures, but it does not, in fact, depict a pterosaur.
The findings are the result of the first scientific study of a well-known set of pictographs in Black Dragon Canyon, in the sandstone canyons of southeastern Utah’s San Rafael Swell.
The images, first documented in the 1920s, form a rich tableau of eerie, human-like and animal figures, painted in the familiar red-ochre technique known as the Barrier Canyon style.
But due to a combination of poor preservation and decades of defacement, the scene has appeared to some observers to depict a pterosaur a winged reptile that lived during the age of the dinosaurs leading some creationists to cite it as evidence that humans and dinosaurs co-existed.

I've used D-Stretch on a number of pictographs in my area and it is an amazing program.

No reason why they should depict a pre-Flood creature that seems to gave become extinct in the Flood, since there's no reason to expect that the rock art could have survived the Flood. However, eerie human-like and animal creatures DO suggest something antediluvian. Hm. On the other other hand the area is stacked with strata, which of course were formed by the Flood....

Flood?
Sorry, no flood.
The evidence is all against the idea of such a flood in historic times so don't even bother.

Re: Flood?
Strata, fossils, genetic degeneration = wonderful evidence for the Flood in historic times.

No, it isn't. Genetic degeneration is something you made up. All the evidence shows there has never been a global flood. You have been shown mountains of this evidence over the years and you ignore it and do not understand it.
Stop mucking up a Links and information topic.

Re: Flood?
You are aware that for example my country exhibits zero evidence for any flooding?
Nothing, nada. We have a 2 billion yo bedrock and then strata 100 % consistent with ice age roughly 10 000 years ago.

Re: Flood?
She didn't make it up. Genetic degeneration is a common meme among YECs, fueled by Sanford's "genetic entropy". Which boils down to sciency-sounding jibber-jabber that impresses the ignorant.

Kind of a conundrum, huh???

Whoever calls me ignorant shares my own opinion. Sorrowfully and tacitly I recognize my ignorance, when I consider how much I lack of what my mind in its craving for knowledge is sighing for... I console myself with the consideration that this belongs to our common nature. - Francesco Petrarca

Ignorance is a most formidable opponent rivaled only by arrogance; but when the two join forces, one is all but invincible.

Maybe a new or different discussion thread is needed?
This is the Links and Information forum, and discussions shouldn't really take place here. If someone would like to propose a new thread over at Proposed New Topics I'll try to give it a look. It should have a new wrinkle, otherwise it will be just another flood topic, which would be fine except it would just be the same topic with all the same people. A better idea might be to take discussion to an existing thread. Some suggestions:
Scan through the Geology and the Great Flood forum and you'll find more.
