Some issues with the media portrayal. It was not an ambush. It was a law enforcement operation to arrest armed and dangerous people. law enforcement did it in a way to lessen the chance of violence. All eyewitness reports indicate that Lavoy Finicum did not die with his hands up.

Re: Bundy in custody
Actually, the Grant County sheriff, Glen Palmer is a supporter of the Bundys as is the Baker County Sheriff Travis Ash. Ash is also a posse comitatus wingnut.
This does not surprise me, and it explains the hands-off policy of local officials. It seems a lot of police officers and comand\management people are aligned with questionable associations -- see
Activist Hackers Release KKK Names After Threats Against Ferguson Protesters
It would be interesting to see them do the same with militia groups. Strange that a volunteer organization is doing something that should be done by the FBI ... unless the FBI ... /conspiracy

Re: Bundy in custody
First rule of an occupation is that you've got to actually occupy the place, rather than just calling dibs on it.
You mean like this?
Or do you mean that periodic visits to download their demands don't count ...?

One great aspect to this whole circus is a bunch of radical gun nuts have voluntarily given up their right to own firearms for the rest of their lives....not just nuts, but stupid nuts.

Re: Bundy in custody
No. They will occupy said federal building as long as the court says they have to.

Bundy asks occupiers to stand down. More arrests while others leave.
End of the occupation?
There are still hundreds of armed wackaloons in Burns and the surrounding area. Will they stand down? Here's hoping.

My guess is that they'll be only too eager to use any excuse to declare a "moral victory" and run away.

My guess is they will just declare "Victory" and run away.

Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

practice anti-domestic terrorist training
This could turn out to be a win-win. The FBI gets to experiment with different tactics dealing with real domestic anti-government terrorists (or zombie apocalypse) and build a more detailed list of all these nutjobs. The next time they try to buy a legal firearm, shahzam, they fail the background check, the next time they want to fly, shahzam, no fly list. Next time they want a government handout, shahzam, sorry no money for you. etc., etc.

Re: practice anti-domestic terrorist training
My guess is that the federal government is afraid of unwittingly martyring these people. There was such bad publicity with Ruby Ridge and Waco, the government probably is trying to avoid that at all costs because these people use cases like that to justify their current actions.
If the Feds were smart, they would surround the building and starve them out. Stop allowing them to run trips to the friggin' store! Cut off their supply and you end the struggle. Whether they come out shooting or not is on them, but as long as it is documented through video, it will be harder for them to say that the government initiated the force versus responding with force commensurate with their actions.
