Unless I'm mistaken, your ranking depends on the rankings of other people, so that your rating might go up as a consequence of me being jeered Really? I never heard that part.
Also, I think Percy's formula only takes into account the last n days or posts or something, so your rating might go down as a result of one of your much-admired posts becoming superannuated. I heard that. Wasn't there also talk about it being an account of the last n posts? That would make sense that, as I'm posting quite a bit, I notice changes in my rating because different posts are being counted now... or it could just be that it changed today because the last day on the list fell off.
So while Percy might be able to implement the feature you describe quite easily, it would not (assuming I'm right) really tell you what you want to know. Even if it doesn't tell me much about the rating, itself, I'd still like to be able to better tell which posts were cheer/jeer'd or not. I'd like to see a list of just the posts that were rated and how they did.

The ability to view your messages that have received votes will be implemented at the same time as the automated post of the month system. It's high on my list of things to do, but I'm currently working on converting over to a templating system. Awesome. Thanks for the explanation too. I though of another thing: When you click on a members name and get to their list of posts, it be cool if you could sort those by the column headers: Topic / Forum. Also, if there was a date column you could sort by too. Sometimes I'll remember something I or somebody else was typing about and want to go find the post and that would help a whole lot. ABE: Sorting the All Topics page by Forum might be nice too. Edited by Catholic Scientist, : No reason given.

About just the last part, it's already sorted by the date/time of the member's last message in the thread - do you mean the date/time when the thread was started? No, I was thinking message date... Since its just the member's last messages in the thread, the sorting wouldn't be any different A list of all of a member's messages might get a little long, no?

Just understand that Percy owns all rights to the nothing that the "Do Nothing Button" does not do But nothing is exactly what the "Do Nothing Button" does do. Its function isn't to not do nothing.
and so you must not do something entirely different and original. Actually, they'd have to do nothing differently... and that's gonna be really hard to do. Edited by Cat Sci, : removed a 'not', or didn't not remove a 'not'

My wife would be the first to tell you, I've found hundreds of different ways to do nothing. For some reason, my girlfriend has a hard time accepting that I'm thinking about nothing... "What are you thinking about?" -nothing "No, really." -Really, nothing. "You weren't thinking about anything at all?" -Nope. "You had to be thinking about something." -I wasn't. "Yeah right" -...

Question. How did this new and innovative technology come about? How did Percy come up with such an awesome invention? I used to have an iPhone and would browse this site on it. Whenever I'd scroll through a thread and arrive at the bottom, I would use the All Topics button to get back to the list. With the relatively small screen, and my normal sized thumb, I would occasionally hit the Contact Us button on accident. This caused the iPhone to open up the email application to draft a new email and then it would start downloading all my emails n'stuff and it was really annoying. I posted a message here Message 231 to ask Percy to move the buttons apart so I wouldn't have to be annoyed anymore. So then he created the Do Nothing Button to seperate them. Why did you create a Do Nothing Button?

Percy is quite good at this programming stuff. Just look around to see how awesome he is. I keep testing the "Do Nothing Button" to make sure he hasn't slipped up somewhere and, sure enough, on this site, the "Do Nothing Button" does exactly that. I haven't accidentally clicked on the 'Contact Us' button since the 'Do Nothing Button' has been implemented, so it is actually doing something for me. I do question if it technically even counts as a button when it is not something that you can "press". I mean, it should still be clickable like a real button is.

If I flip a light switch and nothing happens, did the switch really do anything?
If the switch cannot be moved, then is it really a switch? Edited by Cat Sci, : No reason given.

It told you there's a problem. If I flip a light switch and nothing happens, did the switch really do anything? Not if it's a Do Nothing Switch... But if I cannot even move the switch, does it really count as a switch? Isn't it just a knob at that point? It's really more of a Do Nothing Box, since it's not really an actual button that I can press.

I can tell the difference between a button that moves in and out when I press it, and a drawing of a button that can't be pushed.
