Well according to this site, 57 officers have been fatally shot by an unarmed suspect that took their guns since 2000. This FBI site table lists 46 officers killed by their own gun from 2002-2011. I'm haven't yet found the statistic about just having their guns taken or grabbed.

Unfortunately we are now up to 59 dead. This happened less than five miles from my house. It has been a very rough day for Orlando. I don't understand why people think they need assault rifles for personal defense, do they really need the ability to kill 50-100 people in self defense?

ABE: It appears that I misheard a local news report and that there are 49 dead victims and the one dead perpetrator.

113 and counting
From the beginning of the year until June 27th, there have been 113 homicides in Orange Country Florida, 49 from the Pulse nightclub shooting. Of these 113, 100 were shooting deaths. Obviously we have a gun problem in this country!

I've got to call bs on that as all weapons are dangerous by nature of being weapons. But since we can't easily tell who the "dangerous people" are, perhaps we shouldn't let just anyone with a pulse have a gun, especially ones with magazines that can hold 30 or more bullets?
