U.S. religious groups and their political leanings | Pew Research Center
It is interesting because Catholics lean 44 to 37 toward the Democrats despite the strongly anti-abortion and anti same sax marriage equality stand of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
All evangelical groups lean toward the Republicans by double-digit margins except the 7th Day Adventists and Jehovah's Witness, which lean Democratic by double digits. The Mormons are the most Republican leaning group.
All 7 non-Christian groups favor the Democrats by at least a 38 point margin.
Comments?
Any interesting background information from anybody here?
Explanations?
Clues as to why this is as it is?
Has it always been this way?
