Re: Evidently Not
There are three main paths to atheism, having never been indoctrinated and valuing evidence and reason above faith and belief is one, having been indoctrinated but deciding eventually that you value evidence and reason is another and finally, having been indoctrinated before becoming atheist out of pure rebellion. Not definitive and combinations are possible but I think it's close enough.
Given the first two derive their atheism from favouring eveidence and reason, it's really no surprise that they come to many of the same conclusions. Given that theists derive their faith from irrational thought processes, it's no surprise that they can't come to the same conclusions on almost anything!

If only THE TRUE Biblical Christians could see that!

Re: Evidently Not
This implication of a neutrality in atheism is common in the atheist scientific world, but the fact is that every WORLDVIEW has opinions on how the world works - how a society should govern itself etc, and those opinions are on equal footing with religion concerning the threat they pose to the people at large which make up a society.
Yes, all morality stems from our presuppositions and subsequent, subjective application of them in the real world. If you presuppose the bible is true, you can easily dislike people just for being gay, for example.
Which common atheist presuppositions pose a threat to society and how?

Re: Evidently Not
I did realise that, afterwards. Then I felt icky and the cognitive dissonance kicked in. 😂

Re: Common Sense, Non-Sense, and lack of evidence
See the problem is that you have taken logic, reason and reality and made human understanding higher than belief.
We all do this on a daily basis to survive. You probably go to work rather than pray for food and your bills to be paid, no?
You also likely eat dirty food, because of your human understanding.
Your opinion on homosexuals is rather less 'fundie' than others, do you suppose that too, is due to your human understanding?
We in the west do not stone adulterers. I'm sure you'll agree that we shouldn't, despite what the bible says. Possibly because of your human understanding....
I'm starting to see a pattern here.
