I will miss President Obama. He is one of the wisest, measured well spoken men I have ever come across. It is sad his presidency was mired with racism and obstructionism. One can only wonder how much he could of accomplished. He imo set a new standard for how a president should be. Classy, smart and most importantly the consummate statesman.
Donald, well is Donald.
Hillary we shall see what she can do. It looks like it may finally be her turn.

Re: Recent Polls and Election Predictions
The GOP is a fundamentalist group awash in a sea of ever changing demographics. Until they figure that out how to get along with poor brown people they are doomed imo. **and that stuff Theodoric said too.

Ok, Ok, but tell us how you really feel.
I live in a RED state. So I feel very disenfranchised every election.
But I do still vote. I am hoping if Hillary does win she turns out to be a great president, maybe she will surprise us. Maybe it will be her calling. I will say I do not envy her if she does as Congress is already sharpening their knives.

Re: The Clinton Machine
Hi RAZD,
You paint a very dim picture of the future if Hillary wins.
In you opinion we will either have our civil liberties trounced on or have a do nothing administration gridlocked once again by congress.
I will admit I do not know where her true political allegiance stands, but I feel she is someone who genuinely loves America and who has a grasp of the challenges we are facing. Anyone will be better than Trump imo.

Sadly it is either hyperbole or full on ignorance. Either way it is crazy to think someone would CHOOSE nuclear war.
As crazy as Trump is I think some of his supporters are even crazier imo.

I also think the global warming has to do with all the atmosphere converters the aliens have already installed back during the Eisenhower administration in Roswell. Everything is going to plan.

Well we now have a Republican president and congress.
I hope they can figure out how to govern because the ball in now in their court.
Obviously the Democratic pundits miscalculated how pissed off the average white blue collar American worker is the seemed to have made it to the voting booth in record numbers.
They would of elected a monkey other than any established politician I think.

Hi Tanypteryx,
It is not Trump so much but freaken Pence that worries me. Trumps a egotistical load of hot air....but Pence? Pence is a koolaid drinking believer.
We will survive a Trump administration. I am hoping that the Donald flips and somehow converts into a progressive. What a laugh that would be. He doesn't seem as hawkish at least as Hillary seemed.
Heres to being hopeful.

The Republicans can and will provide services that may in fact be exactly like Obamacare. It will be called,,,,wait for it............................... Trumpcare.
I use the Mitt Romney bot version 2.0 as a example of flipflopping.
In the coming months Progressive will be flabbergasted at all the seemingly familiar policies that have been dry docked since Obamas first inauguration. Rebranded with the Trump seal of approval.

Re: knowing better
To Trump people, it seems the only thing that matters is the Donald is not Obama or Hillary. Period, that is the only criteria that seems to have mattered.
He has committed just about every possible sin a public speaker could.
He has shown he is bigoted, sexist, ignorant, bullying, vindictive, untruthful, judgemental, it just goes on and on.
None of this matters. Not only does the Emperor not have any clothes on, he could take a big steaming crap in the middle of the road and would be cheered for it.
The Trump apologist machine would figure out a way to spin that into Trump donates organic fertilizer or something.

There are some non-crazy reasons that can be used to defend a vote for Trump.
Maybe...but having the Donald in charge of U.S. Policy making is like having the fox guard the hen house.
I really believe he will not only further enrich himself and his dynasty from his presidential stint, but he will cause untold ruin to American credibility abroad.
He has a freakin Hotel in the middle of Washing DC!! It is already lodging the Zillionnaires or foreign governments looking for quid pro quo. He already stated that the President cannot have a conflict of interest. The fact that every president before him has respected such impropriety not worthy of the office, Trump seems to don impropriety like a fine camel hair coat.
His supporters do not care, sane or insane it doesn't seem to matter. The U.S. has gone completely off its Rocker imo.
