The physics is wrong. The Moon has impacted this planet on several occasion and this only makes sense, as there is no finite orbit.
ibid writes:
At about every 13ky [half the processional cycle, as the Moon's orbit coincides with earth's wobble on its axis] the Moon comes into contact with the edge of the force of the magnetosphere. At magnetopause the Moon begins to spin in retrograde, allowing it to come back into close range. At this point, if there is enough imbalance [wobble] then there may be an impact...

I got one of those paddleballs as a gift when I was a kid. Have you ever seen anyone who could successfully hit the ball more than 3 times in sequence? I think I maybe spent 5 minutes on it before I gave up and never "had fun" with it again.

Wasn't there a scene in the movie, The Misfits, where Marilyn Monroe goes well over 100 as the bar cheers her on? Ah yes...here it is:

As I was writing that, in the back of my mind was that scene. Of course, not all of them are on camera, but she was pretty good. I think her rubber band was shortened too.
Anyway, good one!

Re: volunteer alien geologist paddleballer
When I was a kid I practiced and could paddle a few dozen in a row. But it gets very boring and tiring. Very soon.

Re: paddle ball question
I recall Alan Alda being pretty good at it on a Mash episode. I can't find a video, but according to this it was 73 in a row in Season 3 Episode 16.

When I was in school I was in a paddle contest and did just under 100 paddles. I lost to a guy who did just over 40 on a technicality. He did his all in a row.

technicalities suck
My whole career in pro sports got screwed on a technicality. I loved both golf and bowling and just because I often broke par in bowling folk laughed at me even though I had a perfect score in golf.

...with less than 10 days until Trump takes the oath of office, O’Donnell says that she’d support martial law in order to delay his inauguration.
FULLY SUPPORT IMPOSING MARTIAL LAW — DELAYING THE INAUGURATION — UNTIL TRUMP IS ‘CLEARED’ OF ALL CHARGES, O’Donnell wrote in response to a Twitter user who suggested the U.S. military take control of the government until the president-elect can prove he has no financial ties to Russia.
