Re: And 180 degrees to the right...
Hi Faith,
Again, I regret having to moderate my own thread, but I'm not going to allow this thread to spiral out of control. As I told RAZD when he introduced speculative content, and as I told you earlier, please make your discussion objective and evidence-based, and eschew initiation of left/right imbroglios. I'm asking those unwilling to do this to get off the thread.

Is he lying about the size of the inauguration crowd?
You do realize that if he would just let it go, no one would care about the numbers. So he thinks the best use of his time and attention is arguing about crowd size? We have a massive federal budget deficit, he still has no plan to replace ACA, Syria & the Middle East are a huge mess, we have underemployment and a skills gap, etc.
How is this making America great? Move on and get something useful done.

Re: And 180 degrees to the right...
Very little if any time is being spent on this so that's a nonissue. He's certainly getting a LOT done this week, what a strange thing for you to say. And as I said I understand his motivation to be the exposure of media deceit, and he's really not interested in the numbers himself. But he's very interested in media deceit.
I consider this to be in line with the purpose of this thread, but Percy may not so I'm going to make this my last post.

The evidence strongly indicates that it is Trump more than anyone anywhere who is most interested in the crowd numbers at his inauguration. He talked about it in tweets, he talked about it in meetings with Republican legislators, he talked about it to the CIA, he sent his press secretary to castigate the press about it, and he asked the National Parks Service to find photo evidence. Trump's ability to take offense, even at simple facts that few but him care about, is substantial.

Nevertheless his interest in the numbers may be predominantly in the fact that the media misrepresented them, in their neverending quest to diminish his Presidency.

Except that they haven't.
Trump even showed a picture during a tour of the Whitehouse that showed a panorama of his crowd with obviousl gaps, especially at the rear, while Obama's crowd when all the way to the Washington Monument, and said, bald face, that his picture showed a bigger crowd.
What other president would even hang a picture of the crowd? What other president ever complained about his crowd size?
He is obsessive\compulsive and cares more about his personal image than he does the country.

Your denials are worthless. Wasn't that you posting all that nonsense about Obama being a Kenyan rather than a real American? Aren't Kenyans Africans? Africa is not a race it is a continent. I said nothing about Obama's skin color. That's on you.

We conservatives have watched the media lie and manipulate in favor of the Left and against the Right for years. Oh yes they do. the lies have even become more blatant through the Trump candidacy.

Re: Reaction: The Trump Inauguration
I noted the flaw in our system in the way it allows so many to become rich from a career in politics.
You specifically suggested that things like writing books and giving speeches were examples of those 'flaws'. Seriously, we've only had a 40 something presidents, and at any given time only a few of them seem to be around. Accordingly some people might be interested in what they have to say about the experience. What kind of flaw is that? And how is labeling something a flaw not an expression of your disapproval.
I'll also note that Obama was writing best sellers before he became president.

The claim is not that he complained about the crowd size, but that Trump's complaints about media misrepresentation included bald faced lies. I've demonstrated those lies via quotes made by Trump's press secretary to the press.
Guess what book is the Amazon number one best seller, 68 years after it was first published. George Orwell's 1984 prompted by the phrase 'alternative facts' used by Kellyanne Conway's description of the administration statements regarding crowd size.

You don't need to rely on the media this time, Faith. You can catch Trump in the lies yourself if you are the least bit inclined to hear the truth.
