Well, there are lots of such videos, lots and lots of them. There are lots of videos about the earth being flat, about the earth being the center of the solar system, about big foot being real, moon landings being fake, pope being the anti-christ etc. Those videos don't prove anything other than somebody went to a bunch of trouble. Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Thoreau: Civil Disobedience (1846) History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people. Martin Luther King I never considered a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, in philosophy, as cause for withdrawing from a friend. Thomas Jefferson Seems to me if its clear that certain things that require ancient dates couldn't possibly be true, we are on our way to throwing out all those ancient dates on the basis of the actual evidence. -- Faith Some of us are worried about just how much damage he will do in his last couple of weeks as president, to make it easier for the NY Times and Washington post to try to destroy Trump's presidency. -- marc9000

I guess that the lone policewoman chasing down three kids who might have been throwing stones at a school really convinced you that it was a "war zone"

Faith, there are even videos claiming there was a biblical flood and videos claiming the earth is young and videos claiming humans are not just another primate and videos about Bigfoot and videos about witches and videos about all kinds of utterly nonsense things.
BUT reality is not videos and all those videos are simply wrong.

Paul Joseph Watson did a really good report on Sweden at InfoWars this morning but it's not available at YouTube yet. I did find an older video by him though.

Faith writes: Of course retractions don't count in these situations because the point is to get the false idea into the public mind and the retraction rarely gets into the public mind. Okay, fine, retractions don't count.
Most of the stories reported in that link I saw somewhere on the internet such as on Yahoo News. The story about transgender teens committing suicide originated as a tweet. The voting hacking conspiracy piece was New York Magazine (that's neither the New York Times nor the New Yorker, so not mainstream media). The foreclosure story was Politico. The DeVos story seems accurate and not "fake news." The Daily Beast (not mainstream media) mistook a Reuters parody for reality. The travel ban story was Fox News.
The first story was published in the Daily Beast. That ought to count. The Daily Beast is mainstream media now? Who knew?
But the definition of fake news ought not to hinge on such specifics, it ought to be defined by how widespread the lie is. So far you have identified no broadly disseminated "fake news" that spread through the mainstream press. The MLK bust story that was quickly retracted was a single outlet for a very short time, so you can't count that. No one's brought to our attention any other "demonstrably false" story that spread widely through the mainstream media. --Percy

Here's one on the attack on Cologne in Germany. It shows that the first account in the press of the attack was fake news.

I heard most of those stories or saw the headlines. The effect was the same: everything Trump does is wrong and evil. If I saw them they are quite mainstream enough. They are fake news designed to harm Trump. We're awash in the stuff. Your nitpicking is just a distraction. You wouldn't call the DeVos story fake news? That says only too much about your standards.

You're asking people to watch a 29 minute video? Can't you at least tell people where to begin watching, what the press said, and what was actually true?
Also, aren't the first reports of a chaotic scene generally inaccurate? Isn't this just a "so what"? --Percy

Faith writes: You wouldn't call the DeVos story fake news? No. What was it about it that you found fake? All you did in your Message 192 was cut-n-paste without comment, so who could know why you thought it fake. --Percy

But in my opinion even one made by an honest observer should be enough to suggest to an honest viewer that perhaps the truth isn't being promoted by the usual sources.
Maybe... but you are assuming without evidence that the speaker is honest. I and others have posted evidence essentially proving his dishonesty. There is no spike in crime or rape in Sweden.

It's obvious. Take it or leave it.
No, it isn't obvious. At least not to all. You know who absolutely adores people who say "it's obvious"? Con-men and liars. They know you're sure you can't be fooled, your intuition tells you the truth. They adore people like that because they are such easy marks. Me, I know darn well I can be fooled. I've been fooled before and I'll be fooled again. But I won't be fooled again often, because I am always worrying that I might be being fooled.
This need to pretend that these things are not happening in Europe is astonishing.
Incredible.

Watching any few minutes of any of the videos should be sufficient. But anyone having a strong opinion that nothing serious is going on in Europe as a result of the Muslim influx really ought to watch more than that.

Faith, it's very much like the utter stupidity of the recent Congress members that have paraded through here fact finding. They only listened to one small segment for information and left here as utterly ignorant as they were before they came. They did not talk to any local law enforcement agencies; not a single one. They did not talk to those of us who actually live here; not a single one. They did not talk to the business people the stupid wall and deportations will hurt; not a single one. What they did do was avoid learning anything that might be relevant and waste a shitpot of taxpayers money.
