That's part of the rationalization, but I have never used such speech here and yet I'm called a racist and a bigot. Using derogatory terms is not the only form of racially insensitive or bigoted speech. One can use all the "politically correct" terms and still say things that are racist and bigoted.
I give reasoned analysis of the problems with illegal immigration No you don't, you give radical conspiracy theory nonsense. If your arguments were reasoned and rational, I (we) would be more likely to be convinced. Your accusation that we are all brainwashed Marxists is just a shallow excuse to avoid having to make real, rational and reasoned analysis. All you have to do is make an assertion and if we disagree, it is because of our evil leftist Marxist brainwashing.
My daughter was in 3rd or 4th grade and we were talking and I said "Indians", and she said to me very seriously "Oh, Dad, we don't call them Indians any more, they are 'Native Americans'." I was a bit taken aback, but I was like, "Oh, OK."
That actually turns my stomach. Yes, it's a perfect case. So when Native Americans suggest that the term 'Indian' is offensive to them because it refers back to a time when they were thought of as savages that needed to be either tamed or destroyed and driven out of their land in the face of white "progress" and they wish to no longer be referred to as 'Indians' any more, your response IS "Screw you! I don't mean anything racist by it so just get over it."
I have a problem with "Native American" myself. How does anybody know who was "native" here, whether there were earlier peoples who deserve the name. The term itself is Marxist PC propaganda. Ok, now this is just plain dumb. We have physical evidence that these groups of people inhabited this continent for over 5,000 years, which means they must have arrived very shortly after the flood. Or are you thinking there may have been people living here more than 10,000 or 20,000 years ago that deserves the title "Native American." It is a fact that there were native peoples living here when the Europeans arrived here and that our ancestors forced the native peoples out of their land and into Reservations. We robbed them of their way of life and their dignity and now you call that idea Marxist propaganda?
Civilized people naturally have sensitivity to people's feelings, you shouldn't have to be upbraided for not following some formula about it; I'm not sure what world you live in, but this does not appear to be the case. People are pretty insensitive to the feelings of people who are different than they are. The point is to inform and teach people what is insensitive and how other people, who feel marginalized, perceive the way you speak about them.
We've4 got a team called the Patriots. Should serious patriots get all pushed out of shape? How about a team called the Pilgrims? I see no genuine problem with any of this. Do patriots and pilgrims feel marginalized by these terms? This is hardly the same thing, Faith.
PC is recognized by just about every conservative as THE Leftist program to control people and destroy people. Horowitz discusses it in that video in my OP. If you listen to any conservative sources you will find it discussed as Leftist tyranny. So... no, you are not capable of describing what you think political correctness is without using political accusations. HBDWhoever calls me ignorant shares my own opinion. Sorrowfully and tacitly I recognize my ignorance, when I consider how much I lack of what my mind in its craving for knowledge is sighing for... I console myself with the consideration that this belongs to our common nature. - Francesco Petrarca "Nothing is easier than to persuade people who want to be persuaded and already believe." - another Petrarca gem. Ignorance is a most formidable opponent rivaled only by arrogance; but when the two join forces, one is all but invincible.

quote: It may be worse than that. Unable or unwilling to accept that the native peoples were able to build the more impressive remains, some people attributed those to a "lost" (and of course, White) race. While the racist history of the idea isn't empahasised it still shows up in fringe "history" and it would not at all surprise me if Faith picked it up from there, unaware. Needless to say, relying on ideas that have no basis other than racism to deny that the pre-European inhabitants deserve to be called "Native" is hardly good, even when it is done unwittingly.

The Left wants us all dead who don't toe their line. You continue to say this. Yet the record shows that you are the one poster who has wished ill on the other posters here. Your statement is pure projection. Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Thoreau: Civil Disobedience (1846) History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people. Martin Luther King I never considered a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, in philosophy, as cause for withdrawing from a friend. Thomas Jefferson Seems to me if its clear that certain things that require ancient dates couldn't possibly be true, we are on our way to throwing out all those ancient dates on the basis of the actual evidence. -- Faith Some of us are worried about just how much damage he will do in his last couple of weeks as president, to make it easier for the NY Times and Washington post to try to destroy Trump's presidency. -- marc9000

I really don't know if you liberals/leftists are mentally deficient or so locked into your leftist bubble you have had no exposure to things we on the right have known for years, but the point is that Political Correctness was Mao's term for the Party Line that had to be toed by everyone or else. The origin of the term is totally irrelevant. Just as anyone can use gun powder, anyone can use political correctness against their opponents. This post of yours reeks of you slinging around terms like Maoist and communist simply as attacks on folks and not on the substance of their complaints about you. Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Thoreau: Civil Disobedience (1846) History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people. I'll know better next time when you say you're just asking serious questions. So you love PC, I don't see it your way but clearly that's not OK, it turns out I'm a racist and a bigot anyway -- if you don't get to call me that for one reason you get to for another. I have to toe your PC line as I should have figured I'd have to. Just the usual mentally deranged Leftist hate speech.

I guess I should have realized there's no reasoning with a Leftist.

I don't know. Why are you astonished at your lunatic fantasy ?
Seriously Faith if all you can do is present the dubious - and often false - claims made by right-wing extremists as facts - backed up with insults - you are not engaged on reasoning, nor is it in the least stupid to disagree with you. So stop throwing your nasty little tantrum and start acting like an adult.

I guess I should have realized there's no reasoning with a Leftist. Not from your perspective. If your platform revolves around fantasies and is completely bereft of any data or critical analysis, don't be surprised when 'Leftists' call you on it.
Why am I always so astonished at the stupidity of the Left? You believe in fairy tales. My guess is you are astonished by things you do not understand and then label them 'stupid' because of your lack of fundamental understanding. Reminds me of how young children behave actually.'You're stupid!' was a common insult evoked by young children in elementary school. Along with the 'I know you are but what am I' tactic. I am surprised you actually haven't used that one yet. Although I don't read all your posts, so maybe I missed it.

Edited by NoNukes, : unnecessary and duplicative. Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison.
