quote mining?
Something can be literally true and due to context and intent or selective focus be fake.
You mean like quote mining? Where a quote is taken out of context and used to mean something different than the original intent?

Re: Russian plots
So, no response to the fact that Hoft published obviously fake news? It's OK If You're A Republican?
Oh, have you figured out that "liberal"and "libertarian" are opposite ends of the spectrum?
Of course contact with Russia is not in itself a problem. Doing so in inappropriate (and possibly illegal) circumstances and/or lying about it is. Personally, I don't know if there really is a Russian problem in the Trump administration. But there is enough indication of a problem to warrant an investigation , and IMHO Sessions should appoint a special prosecutor because the fact that he's the boss of the Justice Department taints the entire department.

More right wing fake news
Did Democrats Refuse to Stand for a Navy SEAL's Widow?
An unrelated image of Keith Ellison and Debbie Wasserman Schultz was apparently used to claim Democrats refused to honor a Navy SEAL's widow during a presidential speech.
quote:
But examination of multiple video and photographic sources (including the full video of President Trump’s speech, embedded below) documents that, while some Democrats may not have stood and applauded as much as their Republican counterparts did, the ones called out above did indeed all stand in acknowledgment of Mrs. Owens when she was introduced by President Trump:
...
We did find a matching still for the picture used by the Daily Wire, but it came from a portion of the speech that had taken place more than half an hour before the tribute to Mrs. Owens, while President Trump was speaking about inner cities:

No. In any mind.
Trump calls the news "fake" when much of the "information" he spouts is fake. He tells blatant falsehoods, like he had the biggest electoral college win since Reagan. Either he lies or he just doesn't bother to check his facts. In cases like yours, it doesn't matter which because you don't care about the truth. You'll swallow any lie he tells and any fake "information" that he spews.

Re: SOTUS use of Navy Seal
Bottom line: There's no evidence of his DOING any of it, it's all talk.
We can tell truth has become entirely unnecessary to you when an actual confession is dismissed off-handedly as not being evidence.
SO SAD!

Trump Tweets Falsely Again
This morning Trump tweeted that "122 vicious prisoners, released by the Obama Administration from Gitmo, have returned to the battlefield." Just one problem: most of those former Gitmo prisoners were released by George W. Bush. Read all about it: Trump hits Obama again, this time with false claims about Gitmo detainees
Probably Trump read something misleading at Breitbart again and then put fingers in gear without thinking or checking. One has to wonder how many of his opinions are based upon false beliefs.

The actual data

Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts
"God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness.
If your viewpoint has merits and facts to back it up why would you have to lie?

According to this report
Trump’s split screen: A two-hour virtual conversation between the president and ‘Fox & Friends’,
Trump was watching the FOX network. And they mentioned the 122 released who returned to the battlefield. They were apparently quite clear that 113 of those had been released by Bush. And that report set Trump off into tweeting that Obama did it.

Re: Trump Tweets Falsely Again
I'm now convinced that Trump does this stuff on purpose. He deliberately skews the news because he knows his followers don't believe the news anyway. He also attempts to incite the media into a response....which further leads credence to the conspiracy theory.
I believe there is a definite strategy behind all this....I'm just not sure it's the best approach.
Add by edit: Trump has advisors who are manipulating all of this. We are slow to realize that the entire power structure and agenda has turned on its head.
I just worry how he would respond should an important global crises arise. What's the man really made of? Are his perspectives in line with reality?

If the media is the message, Trump is attempting to take the media away from its former owners and own it himself...via press coverage and twitter. He is taking a leaf from reality TV.

Re: Trump Tweets Falsely Again
If the media is the message,
The media is not the message. The media is the thing that the message is delivered on.
Mainstream media in the US is bullshit, we should all turn it off.
Trump is attempting to take the media away from its former owners and own it himself...via press coverage and twitter. He is taking a leaf from reality TV.
He is bypassing the media and providing a message directly to the people.
I believe that the whole strategy of the new administration is to denounce the media as biased and then spin their own version....letting the people discriminate as to what is real.
Given that our media is basically trying to tell us what our opinions should be, I welcome letting the people directly digest the message and form their own opinions.
The media can still take the message and spin it and try to form opinions for us, but having the direct source just provides the people another option.
Unfortunately, people will have to take personal responsibility for their own critical thinking - and many just don't have the desire to do that.

More evidence of the horrors in Europe for you all to deny
So many good videos on the danger of Islam. Here's another. If you don't want to watch much just two or three or four minutes ought to get it across.

This one starts out with one minute showing Muslims destroying Christmas trees in shopping areas.

I suppose I'll be amazed again at how nobody here will accept this as evidence, -- just isolated instances involving a few or something like that? even if there are hundreds of such videos about different events -- and attack me as the one at fault, Godzilla excoriating me as if I were the most evil person on earth for showing how dangerous Islam is. Well, I'm no bambi I'm sure, or if I am I'm a bambi with teeth, but Horowitz was so right about how the Left attacks people with scathing hellfire and brimstone denunciations. Not the violent ones, the ones who are trying to expose the violent ones.

You are right. That is evidence of absolutely nothing except the existence of videos, a fact we are all aware of.

Yup, they're definately more videos.

Re: More evidence of the horrors in Europe for you all to deny
This one starts out with one minute showing Muslims destroying Christmas trees in shopping areas.
No it doesn't. It starts with some guys pushing a car down an escalator. Then it shows someone in a hoodie setting fire to a Christmas tree. Then it shows a woman in a headscarf throwing something at a Christmas tree (is it a ball? A piece of fruit? Couldn't tell).
So one Christmas tree destroyed. I didn't watch with sound, but a quick bit of reading around uncovered that this was in Brussels and the lads are supposed to have shouted Allahu Akbar, so these were probably Muslims. This happend in 2015. I found two accounts of Christmas trees being set fire to in Europe during Christmas in 2016*. One was by anarchists in Greece and one by a drunk, mentally disturbed English guy. Didn't mention his religion, but 'Ramsay' is not a very Muslim sounding name.
*Actually I found more - but only two on purpose.
