What's the difference between Islam and Radical Islam?

The best definition I could find came from a practicing Muslim.

I have some internet friends from Sweden who are Islamic. We talk quite often. Omars father is an Imam. We message each other on facebook. This is a snippet from one of our brief conversations: WED 2:15PM my point, Faith, is that I understand propaganda or potential propaganda...and it comes from the Left and the Right. And I know in my heart that when I talk with Omar he is showing me a clearer picture of how the Muslims in Sweden really are.I have talked with many of his friends and family and have even seen pictures of them and their school. When it comes to the internet, or to any video or news show, all that I have to go on is my intuition. I realize that you are a believer. I read what you say both here and in your blogs. To be fair, I have never met you in person...nor have i met Omar or his friends or family in person. But we talk...justr as you and I talk. Is it possible that you are being deceived too? Can I suggest this without you calling me a leftist? After all, the enemy is crafty. If I accidently called you Peggy instead of Faith, would you be insulted?Would the Creator of all seen and unseen be insulted?Would those folks at the Trump Rally make it to heaven simply because they used the name of Jesus?

Keep in mind that I believe most of the same things you do about Jesus Christ, God, and Christianity. I have read lots of different opinions and beliefs. Granted I am more liberal than many in my church. I am, however, a critical thinker to a limited degree. I am wise enough, for example, to know that any judgement of our christianity from the folks here at EvC will not be based on the information,videos,tracts,sermons, or stated beliefs by us. They will form an opinion and a judgement of us based on what we say, how we act, and who we appear to them through the internet. First of all, if everyone at EvC is so hopelessly deluded why do you even waste your time talking with them?Second, what makes you think I am deluded? Does God ever show you anything? Do you think it is possible that He occasionally gives me wisdom also?You are passionate about your beliefs---both on your blogs and here at EvC.Do you believe in your heart that you are doing any good? Do you believe that you are doing as Jesus wants you to do?

As a matter of fact, I have an Islamic friend here in town...Tamer. He and I go play pool occasionally. I have brought up many of the points concerning his religion and my own. We are able to discuss them on friendly terms. He receives me as a friend. I occasionally share a bit of Gods word with him.Allow me to share some with you, if i may. Making friends is the first part. Strangers on the internet will not receive you. Jesus is telling His Disciples that if they are received by the host families, Jesus also will be received and also His Father.If you continually argue with people and hurl insults at them for rejecting your truth, they will neither receive you or the one who sent you.

Two points.1) How would YOU do it? Would they receive you?2) Is our God so authoritarian so as to simply allow these people to go to hell? Would not them receiving us first as friends open a door, perhaps...for Jesus to reach them?

And yet you never give up. You actually drive more people away from Jesus than those you bring closer to Him.Im not your judge, however.

It is true there are some major differences in doctrines. Doctrines and books, however, are not as powerful as human relationships. We can either learn to get along or we can have wars that wipe millions out.Which way do you believe is the wisest?Which way would Jesus advocate?

The problem is you give them no alternative.

How many people do you know personally? Not us on the internet...I mean at your church? How many have you helped? You can attack me all you like. Why not ask Jesus what to say before you type it?
