Author | Topic: How do you define the word Evolution? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

So, not even one of the definitions of evolution addresses the formation of the Universe, the formation of stars; the formation of earth, the age of the earth; or anything like that.
Just biology. I think that creationists lie about what evolution entails... Then, who's Kirk Dunstan? Does he know anything about biology? Also, how do you quantify genetic information? Edited by Pressie, : No reason given. Edited by Pressie, : No reason given.

Ah, thanks. Bat sh*t crazy. No wonder CRR makes up his/her own definitions of words and change names and then claim that his/her definitions are "scientific"!

Actually, that's how all those professional creationists define evolution. According to them, a melting ice cube is part of evolutionary theory. They even pretend that the Big Bang is part of evolution.

So, not Kirk Dunstan?

Ah, CRR. How to you quantify genetic information?

Nope. Didn't miss it. Professional Creationists preach that the BB is part of evolutionary theory.

Hey CRR. How do you quantify genetic information?

It's easy. Your defintion sucks because it doesn't provide any way of measuring genetic information. Yet, your models depend on measuring genetic information. Which can't be measured. Circular. That's why it sucks.

Dredge writes: Nope, that is completely untrue. When scientists refer to evolutionary theory they refer to genetic variation coupled with selection processes; with natural selection being very important. When scientists refer to the theory of evolution they are referring to the theory that complex life as we know it today evolved from less complex life - a single-cell organism, to be exact. Davidjay, you didn't answer the question. Let's remind you what the question was:

This one is funny. I can't see anything about measuring genetic information at all.

This one was really, really funny.
CRR writes: Well, the "already there resistance" didn't help those 20 million people people who died as a result of the Great Flu... Actually this is an uncommon event. Frozen samples retrieved from the remains of the Franklin Expedition showed a small proportion of antibiotic resistant members. This probably IS a mutation but it exists before the bacteria is exposed to antibiotics. The reason it is at such low levels initially is that it is a defect that is detrimental and only gives a net benefit when exposed to antibiotics. Similar results have been found from other samples from before we started using antibiotics in medicine. The antibiotics cause a strong negative selection against the dominant non-resistant members allowing the resistant members to rapidly increase in numbers. This is one reason that antibiotic resistance can arise within a few years; as has happened historically; the resistance was already there. Edited by Pressie, : No reason given. This one also is funny.
Dredge writes: Well, I'm not a biologist, but from the rocks I studied it was clear that the first forms of life, as we know life, were unicellular. Those fossils I personally found in those rocks. Very, very old rocks. From my work I concluded that the the first forms of life (as we know life) were unicellular. No fish were dropped in there. I don't know what your job entails, but I am sure that if I could somehow remove the theory that all life shares a common ancestor from your consciousness,... Edited by Pressie, : No reason given.
