Of course we have heard of them and for the most part, laughed about them.
And most also understand the simply precautions that should be taken. We are not all as clueless as Donald Trump.

Re: KelLynConjob does it again
Actually such spying is a deal. But it's limited to the capabilities of the device, so your thermostat could be telling the commies what temperature you like. And there are refrigerators with internal webcams so you can check if you need mayonnaise when you are at the store.
Generally such IoT devices are much more of a threat because they typically have lousy security. Several of the recent DDOS attacks were from botnets consisting almost exclusively of infected IoT devices.

Oh my god! My dryer is telling WalMart what size jeans I wear?
If I dry a smaller size pants will it also let Pizza Hut know so to fool them into e-mailing me some discount pizza coupons?

Those things might well leak information, but some of it is not worth worrying about. If you buy networked appliances, you are trading off security versus some level of convenience. For me that has not reached my kitchen appliances or my laundry equipment. For the rest of those things on the list, yes, I am well aware of what can be gotten from those things.

There are even devices out there whose sole purpose is surveillance and people are buying them without that fact being disclosed.

I like this guy. Far too many nutters will ally themselves with any other nutter who questions the 'official story'; even when their ideas are clearly in flat contradiction to one another. Not Stallings. A lot of his blog is dedicated to criticising geocentrists, creationists and biblical literalists who, nevertheless, believe the lie of the round earth. Uncompromising commitment to the cause.
ABE: My respect is slightly lessened after reading some of the comments. He spends his time focusing on fundamentalists not because of a rigorous commitment to truth, but because he sees talking to anyone else as a waste of time.

You obviously are now arguing from outside the authority of the Bible which has led to this problem in the first place. I will not waste my time with someone that is rejecting the very standard by which we determine truth.
