More echos of the Saturday Night Massacre
More echos of the Saturday Night Massacre are appearing in the recent purge of Justice Department Attorneys. According to reports in yesterday's Boston Globe one of the fired attorneys was investigating reports that Tom Price, Trump's secretary of Health and Human Services, was trading pharmaceutical and medical stocks at the same time he was crafting health policy as a Congressman.

Threats from the Playground Bully
According to today's Washinton Post il Donald made direct threats against any Republicans that did not support TrumpCare.
quote:
I’m gonna come after you, but I know I won’t have to, because I know you’ll vote ‘yes,’ Trump said, according to several Republican lawmakers who attended the meeting. Honestly, a loss is not acceptable, folks.
Now Trump would certainly not be the first President to try to bully Congress but unfortunately he's not bright enough it seems to know how to do it. Instead he makes it public so if they cave in he will be seen as the bully he is and if they don't it will simply be yet another in the long line of Trump failures.
And if he thinks ObamaCare was a disaster it will be nothing like the disaster called TrumpCare.

Reality
Is it possible that even with control of both Houses of Congress, the Executive and likely the Courts today's Republicans are really as incompetent as they appear and that they will not be able to actually accomplish anything during the next four years except piss off the electorate?

Re: Reality
The reason is that for at least the last quarter century the Republican Party has concentrated on electing willfully ignorant candidates and once they are elected making sure they remain ignorant. This seems to have been a common program at local, state and federal levels. It has been a race to scrape the bottom of the bucket and elect the most ignorant and incompetent Republicans that can be found.
They have done it well.

Trump takes major step to cure Global Warming
It looks like il Donald is about to take yet another major step in curing global warming and threats to the environment with a directive to Congress to defund all efforts by NASA to look back at the Earth or work with other agencies.

The Trump Administration is family friendly.
Daughter has office in White House and security clearance.
Son-in-law gets tapped to fix government with business ideas. (hopefully not the ideas that lead to all of Trumps business failures, bankruptcies and law suits)

Actually Fake News
DA writes:
The reality....
quote:
According to pool reports, the president spent Saturday visiting the Trump National Golf Club in Potomac Falls, Va., just outside Washington.
Trump arrived at the golf club at 11:01 a.m. Saturday, wearing a suit, a white shirt with no tie and a red hat with USA emblazoned on the front, a pool reporter noted. Though the traveling press pool asked multiple times about the president's activities, Trump's team did not provide answers, the report stated.
The press pool was told that Trump had meetings at the golf club. The presidential motorcade returned to the White House shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday, the pool report said.
By then, pictures had emerged on social media of Trump riding a golf cart and dressed in golf attire, still wearing a red hat, at Trump National Golf Club.

Follow the money....
And the Russian Contacts simply keep bubbling to the surface. It seems that newly hired son-in-law is once again in focus.
quote:
The development coincided with the disclosure that Trump’s son-in-law and close adviser, Jared Kushner, had privately met in December with the chief executive of a Russian bank being targeted by U.S. sanctions and that Kushner has agreed to discuss such contacts with the Senate Intelligence Committee.

More follow the money.
The rape of US citizens continues as Trump opens up those lands, air and water that actually belongs to all of us to sell those resources to corporations.
quote:
President Donald Trump will direct the federal government on Tuesday to begin dismantling his predecessor’s most significant climate change policies, with a sweeping directive telling agencies to stop trying to reduce the carbon pollution of electric utilities, oil and gas drillers and coal miners.
quote:
The order comes on the heels of Trump’s move to ease Obama’s ambitious vehicle fuel efficiency requirements and his order to reverse EPA’s controversial Waters of the U.S. rule. The president has also recently signed legislation undoing Obama-era rules on Appalachian coal mining and energy companies’ payments to foreign governments.
Trump plans to order the EPA to rewrite tough rules that make it virtually impossible to build a new coal-fired power plant, and he will tell the Interior Department to end Obama’s moratorium on new coal mines on federal lands, among other steps, White House officials said.
Additionally, the president’s energy independence executive order also will repeal several Obama-era environmental directives aimed at reducing the federal government’s own carbon footprint, and it will direct agencies to ferret out any additional policies that result in impediments to U.S. energy production, a likely reference to restrictions on fracking and offshore drilling. The president also will tell federal regulators to stop using the social cost of carbon, which attempts to quantify the effects of climate change, in economic analyses of future rules.

Yet more symptoms of fear and guilt
The Trump Administration is taking even more steps to try to whitewash the Russian Connection by trying to limit and redact Sally Yates testimony before Congress.
quote:
As acting attorney general, Yates played a key part in the investigation surrounding Michael T. Flynn, a Trump campaign aide who became national security adviser before revelations that he had discussed sanctions with the Russian ambassador to the United States in late December led to his ouster.
Yates and another witness at the planned hearing, former CIA director John Brennan, had made clear to government officials by Thursday that their testimony to the committee probably would contradict some statements that White House officials had made, according to a person familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity. Ken Wainstein, a lawyer for Brennan, declined to comment.
On Friday, when Yates’s lawyer sent a letter to the White House indicating that she still wanted to testify, the hearing was canceled.

So the Trumps enemy list grows.
Trump says that the Democrats and Freedom Caucus should be fought.
The interesting thing is all of the members of the Freedom Caucus are Conservative Republicans.
How many more groups can he piss off this week?

I'm still not sure how anyone can agree with Trump politically when so far I haven't been able to figure out what Trump's political stance is? So far there has been no real political statement from trump that won't fit on a decal; a full bumper sticker not needed.

Trump being sued for inciting violence
Once again il Donald's mouth seems to have gotten his ass in trouble. Now it is another Federal Judge that is taking Trumps comments as justification for allowing another suit to proceed.
quote:
A federal judge in Kentucky is the latest to take Trump at his word when he says something controversial. Judge David J. Hale ruled against efforts by Trump's attorneys to throw out a lawsuit accusing him of inciting violence against protesters at a March 2016 campaign rally in Louisville.
At the rally, Trump repeatedly said get 'em out of here before, according to the protesters, they were shoved and punched by his supporters. Trump's attorneys sought to have the case dismissed on free speech grounds, arguing that he didn't intend for his supporters to use force. But Hale noted that speech inciting violence is not protected by the First Amendment and ruled that there is plenty of evidence that the protesters' injuries were a direct and proximate result of Trump's words.
It is plausible that Trump’s direction to ‘get 'em out of here’ advocated the use of force, Hale wrote. It was an order, an instruction, a command.
source
And this was related to one of Trumps less obnoxious, less barbaric speeches. What's more there is a clear pattern to il Donald's dangerous and brutish speeches that can be drawn on for supporting evidence of both intent and direction.
One of the more interesting claims by Trump's lawyers is the following:
quote:
Trump’s lawyers argued that the protesters assumed risk of injury when they decided to attend the rally and the defendants cannot be held liable.
source
Trump must be hiring lawyers from Baylor it seems. Girls raped at a party assumed the risk when they decided to wear short skirts and so the "Brothers" should not be held liable.
