That's ridiculous. In what way? If a good Christian hotelier is prohibited from gay people with a bed for sexing on, why would it be OK for a furniture store? And if the prohibition applies to beds, why not to couches or carpets? And if the prohibition applies to gay sex, why not all the other sins? For example, before selling an office chair, shouldn't a devout Christian check that no-one's going to be committing usury in it? If not, why not? (Of course, we know why not, but you can't admit it.)

Ha ha. No, I'm saying we don't need it. Capitalists and a free market would sort it out. You mean the same way they sorted out racial segregation? (which presumably must have originated during the little-discussed Communist era of American history, or capitalists and the free market would never have let it arise in the first place).

I think looking to the feds to provide you with how to think about something is pretty totalitarian. When the topic is how to think about what the policies of the federal government are, then the federal government is kind of uniquely qualified to tell you how to think about that. Of course, people are free to take a wild guess instead. You call that totalitarian? That's like saying "John is so henpecked, he lets his wife tell him what to think about what her favorite foods are instead of making up his own mind about what she likes to eat."

Today, we have near instantaneous communication between practically all of the potential patrons of an establishment, and if there is even a hint of bigotry the public jumps all over the business and calls them out. Which will work fine in locations where the proportion of bigots is small. In other places, the public will jump all over a hint of non-bigotry.
Also, racial segregation was mandated by the state by law. Until capitalists won their long struggle for civil rights. (Some black people helped as well, I believe.) Well, that makes the situation very different from a bathroom bill, which is hardly a law at all. Edited by Dr Adequate, : No reason given.

For example all those places where the politicians know that they will attract more popular approval than disdain for passing bathroom bills.

I'm for letting the business owner decide. Well we tried that but they decided that serving black people was ungodly.
I don't see any biblical problem ... Why not? Is there one of Paul's epistles I've overlooked that says it's OK to supply some kinds of sinners with some kinds of furniture on which to commit some kinds of sins, but not others? Edited by Dr Adequate, : No reason given.

I still think if you can pass there shouldn't be a problem using the bathroom where you can fit in. So I disagree with the law that demands going where your birth sex wants you to go. Does that take care of this issue? Not quite. Who decides who fits in? What if you have two X chromosomes, were born a woman, identify as a woman, but look kinda butch? For example ... Woman Sues Restaurant That Ejected Her From Bathroom for Looking 'Like a Man'.

Christian Extremist Says Conservative Tomi Lahren Should Be Executed for Defending Abortion Rights.
But liberals sometimes say conservatives are wrong, so that's basically the same thing.

No they don't really exist, it's all made up. Riiiight. But, just to check, you white heterosexual Christians really are being oppressed, aren't you? Unlike everyone else.
There has never been such racial conflict in this country as has been drummed up over the last eight years by the Left. Words fail me but fortunately they are unnecessary.

Sorry, meant since the Civil Rights era of course. Things have been getting better since then but Obama stirred it all up again. During the Rodney King riots when Bush Sr. was President 2000 people were injured and 55 people were killed. Imagine how delighted conservatives would have been if this had happened when Obama was President. But it didn't.
And the white privilege stuff is destructive propaganda, contrary to the spirit of MLK and the spirit of the melting pot. Some might suggest that it's the existence of white privilege that's "contrary to the spirit of MLK and the spirit of the melting pot". But no, according to you, it's mentioning its existence that MLK wouldn't approve of. Perhaps you live in an alternate reality where he said "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where no-one will object or even so much as mention it if they are judged by the color of their skin instead of the content of their character."

To use the dictionary's terms: I see people subordinating their individual selves to a centralized authoritarian and autocratic hierarchy to control personal aspects of their lives. They're looking to the federal government to help them figure out which bathrooms people should use, for crying out loud. That's like pointing to the First Amendment and saying: "They're looking to the federal government to help them figure out who should have freedom of speech, for crying out loud."

No, not at all. The first amendment prevents the federal government from violating a preexisting right. It limits the government rather than giving it more authority. It doesn't identify people's characteristics and tell people how to behave. All it does is say what congress cannot do. That's the opposite of these guidelines and the mentality of expecting the federal government to advise you on which bathrooms people should use. If you have been living under a rock for the past few years I advise you to come out from under it and look up the facts on this great new thing we have called the internet.

Just saw a headline at Yahoo about the White House looking into the law about impeachment. Every day there is something on that page implying some kind of error by Trump, some kind of hot water he's supposedly in. Some of it has some truth to it but overall it's hard to escape the impression that this IS a witch hunt, Scary to think that we could have a Leftist coup, the overthrow of a legitimately elected President, against the will of half the voting population, based on absolutely nothing. No dear, that would require actual sticks and stones.

Nothing has ever been done to any President like what is being done to Trump. No President has ever been like Trump.

Oh I think there's plenty of extant evidence against Obama but the Left keeps it under wraps. Because they can, because they have the power. But without having, for example, the Presidency, the House, the Senate, or the Justice Department. But they still have so much power. I guess voting Republican is totally pointless then, if even when the Republicans win the Democrats still get to make all the important decisions. You guys should stop voting, it changes nothing and costs you in gas money.
