Funny you keep lying about something that has been proved over and over here. You keep thinking you can force your own definition onto me? Get a clue.

Good for you. Now see if you can stretch your mind to grasp a point of view that's not your own. It's been spelled out often enough. Just exert a little effort.

the term "haters" is straight from the Leftist/Marxist playbook. PC attack for sure, last refuge of the demented Left as I said.

Re: don't rock the boat
Man and woman, man and woman, man and woman. Not religious, not religious, not religious, universal, universal, universal, applies to all peoples in all times and all cultures, whose laws generally reflect this ordinance. Man and woman, nothing to do with circumstance, belief or unbelief, culture or anything else. Man and woman, period. As I've said dozens of times on this thread alone. "Marrying" two of the same sex is a fundamental contradiction with the biblical law since they cannot become "one flesh."

marriage ordinance again
It's been discussed to death on this thread already, starting in Message 57. I confined it to Genesis 2:24 because that's the gist of the message but start reading in 2:18 for the whole context.
Genesis 2:18-24King James Version (KJV)
18And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
19And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
20And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
21And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Re: don't rock the boat
I believe that throughout American history Christianity has been rightly favored because it began with Christian settlers and the vast majority of the population has always been Christian. I did not claim the COnstitution supports this in any direct way, but practice has always supported it, in government, in the schools, in the courts and so on.
In any case consr5vative Christians consider the passage in Genesis I quoted to be definitive and it doesn't matter what anybody else says, that is what we act on when there is a conflict with the gay marriage law.

Re: don't rock the boat
In this part of the discussion I didn't claim the Constitution as support. However, prayer in schools was not effectively challenged until Madalyn Murray, notwithstanding court cases I'd never heard about, which shows that the First Amendment was not generally considered to be violated by such prayer. And the sad thing is that its loss is taking the nation to perdition.
All this just makes me hate some of the Founders for their stupid Enlightenment deism that caused them to betray the Christian foundations of this country, paving the way for today's fall into paganism, which is going to destroy the nation completely, as it has just about done in Europe.
Barring the mercy of God, for which I pray.

Re: don't rock the boat
You know what "hater" means as a PC .... I hate evil, .... .
No, I've understood that the Constitution does not ever allow actions contrary to law, that is why I assume there would be restraint on evil religions like Islam.
AGAIN, the only conflict between secular law and the Bible that I'm aware of is gay marriage. And as I said, go ahead and persecute. ....
Prayer is a good example in context, ....

Re: don't rock the boat
Hating the enlightenment mentality of the main founders is not the same as wanting to overthrow the Constitution. Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Paine and Franklin were deists who did choose to leave the truth out of the Constitution but nevertheless said many things strongly supportive of the necessary Christian character of the nation in person. The Constitution is all that holds this pathetically deteriorating nation together, despite leftist efforts to destroy it, so I certainly am not for overthrowing it.

Re: marriage ordinance again
As I thought nothing about marriage.
Unbelievable. Nothing about marriage in Genesis 2:18-24?
(See Message 761)
Unbelievable, amazing, astonishing, mind-boggling.
Anything about marriage in Jesus' quotation of Genesis 2:24 in Matthew 19:3-6 (and Mark 10:7)?
The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Re: marriage ordinance again
Yes Matthew 19. But I'm realizing that nobody reads anything I write or you'd already know my answer to all the silly things people keep bringing up on this thread because I've already discussed them.
To think Jesus would be talking about living together the way people do today is really really culturally obtuse. Cleave together, become one flesh? Get a clue.
In your case what I've already discussed is that marriage is not always created with a ceremony. I don't know about Israel in Jesus' time, though they did have a long feast and partying. In ancient Israel the man took the woman into his house, tent or whatever, it was public, and that was marriage. Different cultures do it differently but it's about the permanent union thus created, not how it was created. Don't force your own cultural bias on the many different forms of marriage around the world. But as I've said, one man and one woman is the norm in most places, sometimes polygamy but hardly ever gay marriage. The crazy Caesars married some gay people but gay marriage has never been the norm or even common in any society. If you can find exceptions, so what? The exceptions are exceptions and very rare in history.
