It is about a CIA trained assassin who had high power moles in positions of power in Castro's government. He was able to get a friend in the Finance Ministry to write a law that deliberately created "predictable chaos, as millions of Cuban's [after being tricked, ] withdrew their money from banks" in an act of "economic sabotage ".
This trained assassin used inside job tactics to get fake laws written to cause 14,000 children to flee Cuba in Operation Pedro Pan.
The highly credible assassin is Antonio Veciana , a man that was known by the CIA to be an anti-Castro Cuban before he was even approached by the American spy agency. But agent "Maurice Bishop " made the rendezvous.

In February 1976, he was called to testify in front of the House Select Committee on Assassinations. He told them everything about his time with Bishop, including what he suspected was a possible tie between US intelligence and JFKs assassination.
In 1963, 11 weeks before President Kennedy was murdered, Bishop asked Veciana to meet him in Dallas. Veciana claims that when he arrived, Bishop was meeting with a shy, quite man who didn't speak in his presence and left after five minutes. When Kennedy was killed and Lee Harvey Oswald''s picture was shown on the news, Veciana says, he remembered him as the man Bishop met with in Dallas.
After sharing this information with the committee, Veciana spoke with investigator Gaeton Fonzi numerous times over the next three years. Fonzi had him meet with a police sketch artist in an attempt to identify Bishop, and later, Sen. Richard Schweiker told Fonzi that the sketch "reminded him of David Atlee Phillips, " an officer in the CIA.
Fonzi arranged for them to meet, but Phillips and Veciana claimed they didn't know each other. Fonzi wrote that Phillips was Bishop in his 1993 book about the inquiry, "The Last Investigation, " but Veciana didn't publicly confirm this until 2014, when he did so at a conference held by the Assassination Archives and Research Center for the 50th anniversary of the release of the Warren Commission Report. This book marks the first time Veciana, who lives in Miami, has shared the story in its entirety.
Antonio Veciana was a man of interest for 4 decades , before his 2014 testimony, and he is very much a man who forces us to ddeal with and consider. His truth or dishonesty in this matter is literally the difference between smoking gun evidence against the CIA or a false testimony. If his story is truthful, then I assume he correctly remembered seeing Oswald 11 weeks earlier than his seeing his picture on the television in November 63. I suppose the current testimony of Veciana could be honest but the identification he made in November 1963 was an incorrect , but honest , mistake, based on faulty memories of a brief September 63 meeting.
Investigative reporting is in short supply, due to severe shortage of interest, among the American people, in purchasing and reading serious nonfiction news. Much of the story here has been investigated, by credible and able investigative agents, over the decades, so this revealing book, from the hand of the historic individual who is himself the very subject of the government investigators interest , is valuable enough that the NY Post was able to do a good story simply by reading the book straight from the horse's mouth.
This bargain story about a monumentally important set of historical events raises alot of thought.
The Post aside, I suspect that the media will never give this historic individual the attention he and his story deserves.
It is a sad commentary on our culture.
We will spend alot of time bashing immigrants who are forced to migrate here and we will spend alot of time and money attacking the country that they came from, but won't look at our harmful involvement in the world events .
We deliberately created refugees from Cuba to the ends of the Earth and that gets left out of the discussion when we bash immigrants. That should be (only ) the beginning of the media story, but we never get the all important details at all, much less the even deeper depths our government has sunk to.
