It Can't Happen HereOne parallel that I see involves this whole idea of the source of the news. The nazis didn't want conservative news nor liberal news. They simply wanted National Socialist News. Too many people do not trust the news unless it comes from ultra right wing Alex Jones...who somehow has them convinced that he and he alone has the pulse of truth.I am beginning to see the wisdom in examining content before worrying about the source.Another thing I have noticed. Donald Trump is more entertaining than any parody of him ever could be. Hilarious yet sad. We definitely live in interesting times.One more note: To any of you who see yourselves as Christian. Jesus did not see Himself as a part of this world. He was neither a socialist nor a right wing nationalist. Perhaps you are fighting the wrong battles.

I just read another article by the same professor who wrote The Mind Of Donald Trump written in The Atlantic magazine.I took psychology in college and have always been interested in it. Both of these articles, in my opinion, describe Donald Trump and his inner workings quite well.The next four years will be a classic textbook example of the power of a president backed by a populist mandate (one-half of 30% of all voters) supported by a conservative Senate and House. This week, Trump addresses congress in a State Of The Union address and it will prove interesting. What will the opinion of the congressional leaders be (as a consensus)? By now they see Trumps public persona...but will he be able to unite them through this speech or will everyone simply see more of Il Ego strutting on stage?

OK, you have a point. This is the one opportunity that today's Republican Party has been waiting for: A mandate. They have the opportunity to change the course of US History towards their liking. If they fail, I believe that the republican party will no longer exist in its present form. Not only that, there is a scary yet real possibility that none of us will continue to exist---Trump could well be the reason that unifies the rest of the world against the United States!I realize I am being entirely hypothetical, but I fear that an authoritarian leader backed by generals and a bunch of redneck populists provides an attractive target for any attacks against the imperialism of America. And spending a trillion dollars to upgrade our military won't protect us.Ever read about David and Goliath? WE are Goliath.

No. I realize its wrong thinking. Jesus would likely advise us to surrender our pride and let the crowd pass us by. I'm talking out of my basest nature. I've earned my spot in line and I won't simply let the masses ahead of me. We might not be the best and the brightest, but we sure as heck are the most powerful. At one time, our parents lived in the most prosperous country and we believe its our birthright to keep that legacy.If we lose our national pride, we will simply be a future gardner for some foreigner.

Just be sure that you are worshipping God and not money.IF There is a God, He will judge America based on our empathy for the least of these. The poor. We will not gain points by wealthy capitalist families becoming more able to make money for their grandkids future.

The media at large may well be more left oriented than center or right politically. In my opinion, they refuse to publish right wing news because they do not want to fall into the trap of giving free publicity.I don't see that the media is overly biased....I only see that they are leaning more towards the political Left rather than the Right because they are educated, and most educated people are liberals. Most business school graduates are conservatives.We have shifted politically as a nation and are now concentrating on making money and allies who will help that interest. Globalism is a real fear for many people.Global Corporate industrialism is being presented as an alternative.Economics Trumps Politics. (Pun Intended)

I read that whole interview. Trump explains the benefits that his economic strategy has for helping business. I am concerned what this will all mean for organized labor. Are they going to force us to renegotiate for lower wages in order to keep our unions?Point being that Trumps policies are actually attempting to turn big business into one huge mega union.
