If I walk out the door tomorrow and pick up some quartzite or basalt or gneiss how do I know if it's part of your 'geological column' or not? Is the Vishnu Schist part of the column?And please, please, don't tell me to LOOK at the rocks. I can confidently predict have "REALLY LOOKED" at more rocks before breakfast this morning than you have in your entire lifetime.- you make the assumption that it all happened in a year when that assumption is not required.
