Interestingly, Obama let Flynn veto the arming of Kurdish troops (closing Obama days)
The biggest issue is whether General Flynn was a "Turkish agent" really.
But that runs counter to the Russian agent craze that has swept the military industrial complex propaganda machine.
Meanwhile, Gary Cohn, Trump's chief economic adviser, said this about the $110 billion in immediate sales of American arms and military equipment to Saudi Arabia :
quote:
A lot of money. Big dollars.
Trump said this :
quote:
Tremendous investments in the United States. Hundreds of billions of dollars of investments into the United States and jobs, jobs, jobs.
$350 billion over the next ten years and $110 billion right now on military sales in the name of defense against, get this, Iran.
The military industry wins again.
The people of the world loose.
The military industry funds paid mouthpieces, often ex military officers, to the tune of billions of $$$ a year, in sounding alarms at inadequate military spending, or so the propaganda goes.
General Wesley Clark has been talking alot about how we need to spend so much more to keep up with Russian and Chinese technology. Another mythology we have to suffer.
"gap"
"gap"
"gap "
Talk about the God of the "gaps".

"A New Foundation for American Greatness"
"A New Foundation for American Greatness," is pretty exciting. Cut back on funding health care, aid for the poor, scientific research, medical research, disease prevention, environmental considerations all sound like the sure recipe for promoting growth and greatness.

Yup. Let the rest of the world move forward.
This is definitely a Bandar-Log Administration.
quote:
Here we sit in a branchy row,
Thinking of beautiful things we know;
Dreaming of deeds that we mean to do,
All complete, in a minute or two
Something noble and grand and good,
Won by merely wishing we could.
Now we’re going tonever mind,
Brother, thy tail hangs down behind

Trump to retain a Private Attorney.
Since il Donald has gotten a negative response from the Justice Department, Courts, FBI, CIA, NSA and National Security Agency it seems he has decided to retain Private Council.
source
But what is even more interesting is it seems he also wants to appoint an attorney from the same firm to head FBI.
Sounds like a great idea.
Have the home team hire and pay the umpires and referees.
Let each tennis player bring his own line judge.
Let the criminal appoint the judge and choose the attorneys.
Allow alternate facts into evidence.
This really shows promise.

Lieberman withdrew from consideration today based on the conflict of interest you just described. I think that is what most lawyers would have done.
quote:
With your selection of Marc Kasowitz to represent you in the various investigations that have begun, I do believe it would be best to avoid any appearance of a conflict of interest," Lieberman wrote in a letter.
Lieberman is a senior counsel at the same firm at which Trump's lawyer is the senior partner.

As you would expect.
The question I have is "Why doesn't the oh so bright il Donald see such things and so avoid making stupid moves like trying to appoint a personal counsel to defend FBI investigations (as well as all the other agencies and committees that will be investigating) as well as the person to lead FBI investigations from the same firm or posting twitter messages and making recorded comments that provide the basis for courts to reverse actions he plans to attempt?"

More shakeups at the Trumphouse
quote:
Trump's communications director is out as larger shakeup looms
Mike Dubke, who was on the job a little over three months, resigned on May 18.
Beyond Dubke, White House press secretary Sean Spicer is expected to take on a reduced public role, though he is conducting the briefing later on Tuesday. Dubke, who was only on the job for a little over three months, had been a Spicer ally in the White House.

With the way things are going, I think they should play the Benny Hill theme in the background when these news stories are released.

They also have been saying 'three Leakers have been found and will be fired' (at least that is what was leaked to the press'.

Trump pulls the US out of Paris Climate agreement
I got nothing.
I think the German headlines say it best imo.

White House Blocks Democrats' Oversight Efforts
The constitution was fun while it lasted, amirite?
quote:
It's not clear how the opinion aligns with a federal statute that says executive branch agencies must respond if "any" seven members of a House oversight committee or "any" five members of a Senate oversight committee — with both panels specifically named in the law — sign on to a request.

Re: Trump pulls the US out of Paris Climate agreement
Given that the agreement was entirely voluntary with no enforcement mechanism whatsoever, I think this announcement has the purpose of pushing other news off of the front page.
Oh look over there.... a pony!!!
Immensely preferable to a drone strike on a wedding party. Also I see where Trump created 70 coal jobs and is claiming to have created 1 million other jobs so far.

Re: Trump pulls the US out of Paris Climate agreement
Plus the US cannot legally bow out of the accord until at least 2020 and the US really has a questionable amount of control over what cities, counties, states and individual companies decide to implement.
But also consumers today have some surprising options available; for example in most states they can opt out of buying electricity produced by a specific method such as nuclear or ... coal fired generators.

True. All true. But of course you can still make statements like "I was elected to represent folks in West Virginia and not folks in Paris" right now, which I think is the entire point; Trump is just playing to the base.

Politicians, in general, have always been good at playing the game ...Donald has just tweeted his way into Generation X,Y, and Z. A whole new generation of nationalist conservatives...many of them young...are being played by an old reality TV star.
