It seems that Trump asked the head of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence as well as the head of NSA (NoSuchAgency) to push back against the FBI investigation into the Russian Affair.

"A New Foundation for American Greatness," is pretty exciting. Cut back on funding health care, aid for the poor, scientific research, medical research, disease prevention, environmental considerations all sound like the sure recipe for promoting growth and greatness.
source Yup. Let the rest of the world move forward. This is definitely a Bandar-Log Administration.

Since il Donald has gotten a negative response from the Justice Department, Courts, FBI, CIA, NSA and National Security Agency it seems he has decided to retain Private Council.
source But what is even more interesting is it seems he also wants to appoint an attorney from the same firm to head FBI. Sounds like a great idea. Have the home team hire and pay the umpires and referees. Let each tennis player bring his own line judge. Let the criminal appoint the judge and choose the attorneys. Allow alternate facts into evidence. This really shows promise.

NN writes: Lieberman withdrew from consideration today based on the conflict of interest you just described. As you would expect. The question I have is "Why doesn't the oh so bright il Donald see such things and so avoid making stupid moves like trying to appoint a personal counsel to defend FBI investigations (as well as all the other agencies and committees that will be investigating) as well as the person to lead FBI investigations from the same firm or posting twitter messages and making recorded comments that provide the basis for courts to reverse actions he plans to attempt?"

Plus the US cannot legally bow out of the accord until at least 2020 and the US really has a questionable amount of control over what cities, counties, states and individual companies decide to implement.
But also consumers today have some surprising options available; for example in most states they can opt out of buying electricity produced by a specific method such as nuclear or ... coal fired generators.

As I said in a post above, it will likely come down to "What did the President know and when did he know it?"
If candidate Trump knew that little Trump and Trump's Minions were going to meet with a Russian representative and that Russia would give them dirt on candidate Clinton then it is very possible that the High Crimes and Misdemeanors standards were reached. If we end up with President Pence would his Secret Service code name be PP?
PP is coming.
PP is on the move. PP is streaming "I am curious yellow".

Once again the Trump Administration, this time through Jeff Sessions, shows they have no regard for the rule of law or the protections of the US Constitution and authorizes Police to simply confiscate property from US Citizens who have not been convicted of a crime or even charged with a crime without any concern for Constitutional Rights.
This should scare the shit out of every citizen.

vimsey writes: Is it too much to hope that even a proportion of Trump supporters might realise how utterly wrong it would be for him to pardon himself or his family in relation to any crimes they may have committed ? Gerald Ford was an honorable, kind and honest person and a pretty good President yet his pardon of Richard Nixon, even if done for the good of the country, was not forgiven and he was not reelected. But that was a different set of Republicans and not the band of the deplorables we have today.

It's a Fox News video covering an editorial comment on why TRUMP discontinued the CIA Covert arming of the anti-Assad forces.
The gist of the video is that Russia has been supporting Assad and many in the media have suggested that Trump's motive was to please Russia and Putin but the Fox folk list other possible motives. The problem is that Trump is simply not capable of presenting a cohesive explanation of why he does anything and since it was supposedly a covert CIA action publicly announcing that it was stopped is what Trump is always bitching about, yet another Leak.

Add that to the news that the Pres actually wrote his kids initial story about the meeting with the Russians and what do you get?
Yet more incompetence.

I think the goal of every thinking American citizen should be to make sure Trump remains President for the rest of his first term but simply ignore anything he tries to do. Leave him in office but just pretend that the Executive Branch of Government does not exist for the next 3+ years. Let him continue to make a fool of himself, to tweet like the twit he is, to sign lots of Executive Orders but simply treat them like preschooler drawing and put then on the refrigerator door.
Just say "How interesting Donald? Did you do that all by yourself? I bet you worked really hard at it."

As long as the crap they try simply gets ignored we will survive. And so far it seems in most states even the Republican Governors have sense enough to ignore what the President and his henchmen try to do. There are exception like Texas where the current government is as evil as the Trump Administration but even there there is push back at the local levels with Chiefs of Police and Mayors saying "Hell no!"
