Organisms have developed incredibly complex reproductive techniques including sexual reproduction in order so that they can continue to mindlessly reproduce ad infinitum.
Some of these reproductive process are said to have taken billions of years to evolve.
But why would organisms seek to reproduce for no reason and why would they or their genes care to pass a portion of their genetic information on?
Personally I am a gay antinatalist who thinks having children is immoral and I have no desire to create partial copies of myself but I don't dislike children at all. I would certainly not copy myself once I had discovered I was simply responding to inherited compulsions with no goal other than mindless replication at any cost (if that can be called a goal rather than a byproduct or accident).
Also the wide spread uses of contraceptives and the increasingly small family sizes do not suggest humans have an urge to reproduce that is impossible to overcome.
All you need to produce a child is an urge to have heterosexual sex and not to imagine the long term consequences of rearing children.

Lets focus this opening post a bit. Which Forum do you want it in? What specifically is the topic theme? Please elaborate.

Biological evolution seems the most related forum.
The essential questions being: Why do organisms create increasingly bizarre and incredibly elaborate schemes to reproduce?
Why do things attempt to survive? Why do genes have a survival motive?
Why the need for survival at all? (Including what does actually survive?)
And why do humans easily not have children and have traits like homosexuality making reproduction difficult and produce antinatalist philosophies?
All the questions can be subsumed under the heading "Why do organisms reproduce"
Also I do not see how genes can know what bodies or the environment are doing in order for the genes to be invoked as the motive for reproduction.
