Tanypteryx writes: I'm tired of her arrogant insults of the intelligence of everyone who disagrees with her and her utter lack of self-awareness. Have you ever seen that "motivational" picture of a busted ship sunk in the sea smashed on some rocks? It says something like "Some lives are spent being nothing more than a warning for others." I think Faith has a very important role to play.

I think Faith has a very important role to play. I agree.. This person is a victim of Christian Coercive Persuasion and people should be aware of it's effects.
Christian Coercive Persuasion is antithetical to the First Amendment. It is the unfair manipulation of other's biological and psychological weaknesses and susceptibilities. It is a psychological FORCE technology, not of a free society, but of a criminal or totalitarian society- John Blatt

Been there, done that. They spat me out. Must have been right-wing crocodiles with bad taste. ... AND HUNG UPSIDE DOWN OVER A PIT OF SNAPPING CROCODILES. But keep making my point. Right-wing logic: When you're in a hole, keep digging.

I think Faith has a very important role to play. Yep. I think the name for that role is "foil." Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Thoreau: Civil Disobedience (1846) History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people. Martin Luther King I never considered a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, in philosophy, as cause for withdrawing from a friend. Thomas Jefferson Worrying about the "browning of America" is not racism. -- Faith Some of us are worried about just how much damage he will do in his last couple of weeks as president, to make it easier for the NY Times and Washington post to try to destroy Trump's presidency. -- marc9000

If you left that would improve the habitat considerably. On the typical thread Faith is holding an argument alone against several interlocutors; every fallacy she posts is quickly jumped on, every infraction speedily pointed out, and her motives are continually questioned and discussed. Her opponents, on the other hand, are able to slip past most of their nonsequiturs and crappy arguments unchallenged - simply due to numbers. It's not very surprising if she loses her rag sometimes.

... OUGHT TO BE CONVICTED OF HATE SPEECH ...
And I had thought that you were against the idea that there is such a thing as "hate speech".Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Let's put an end to this idea that Faith expresses hate ideas and not people. That statement of denial is easily exposed using her own words of invective directed towards people. All that's required to earn this kind of enmity is disagreeing with her.
Message 585 Faith writes: I sorely wish there was some way to physically divide the country so that the two sides wouldn't have to put up with the other's politics. I hate you all, you hate me. Message 462 Oh suspend me please. I wish I could make EvC disappear. Message 908 OUGHT TO BE CONVICTED OF HATE SPEECH AND EVEN TREASON AND HUNG UPSIDE DOWN OVER A PIT OF SNAPPING CROCODILES. I pray for this woman. But I don't see the point in debating with her on any topic. Hating people who disagree with you is not rational. Edited by NoNukes, : No reason given. I also like Faith (at least as much as I can like anyone I know only through an anonymous internet ID).
Faith, I believe, is honest and and sincere in her beliefs, and I respect how she expresses as clearly and directly as she can. (Some people may disagree with this, but I don't want to really go more into this because I want to avoid the appearance of a "back-handed compliment".) As distinct from other commenters here and on other venues (I'm talking especially about those on the right, of course, but this applies to everyone...sometimes even me ) who sometimes seem to be less interesting in discussing various topics as much as they are interested in "winning debates" using various rhetorical tricks and verbal sleight-of-hand than expressing facts and logical deductions in a clear, concise manner. Anyway, I've always liked Faith. One of the several reasons I started posting again last April was because I saw that she is still active here. (Oops! Maybe that's another strike against her! ) Edited by Chiroptera, : Typo.Patriotism is the excuse that countries give to themselves for their failures. — Stephen Marche |

The point is not to let her insane ideas go unchallenged. We've seen from the 2016 election that there are plenty of people who think like she does. There may be a tiny fraction of them who will recognize the insanity if it is exposed. This is a debate group. I don't have any thing bad to say about people who want to debate with Faith. That's what this forum is for. It is my opinion that such debates have little value beyond entertainment. Faith, with great sincerity, believes every single wing nut conspiracy theory any one has ever heard of, every single fundy belief ever expressed. Faith has an excuse for every "excess" of the right, and she sincerely believes in witches and leprechauns. Most exchanges with her eventually lead to blow ups and 100 point font messages full of rage and hatred. Some folks are their own cautionary tale. Their insanity is quite evident. Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Witchcraft is certainly real, with many levels involved, but its main characteristic is communication with demons. That is why Paul objected to the girl who followed around the Christians 'prophesying" about their work, because he knew she knew it through a demon. She may not have been a formal witch but the demonic communication is what witches basically do. As for leprechauns, you said I "believe" in them? I don't know where you got the idea but what I believe about leprechauns is that they are one example of demonic manifestation among many other such manifestations, most recently such things as UFOs and "extraterrestrials."
And yes I do hate Leftists. It's rather like hating Nazis and the like.

Yes well you are going to go on making an issue of it so I might as well agree that I've used the term. I don't consider it hating people, I consider it hating the ideology since as a matter of fact I get along fine with Leftists I happen to know, it just means there are things we can't talk about. But hating Leftists is not the issue, you and NN have made it the issue to obscure the point about Politically Correct accusations which IS the issue. I hate Leftists for their use of PC accusations, which are a form of political tyranny, should be regarded as hate speech and punished by butt-chewing crocodiles and banishment to Antarctica. PC is a form of soul murder.

Catholics "say prayers," Protestants talk to God, as I do a lot.
God hates PC too. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.
