It is suspiciously lacking in spelling mistakes - but it appears to be a letter to the editor so the editor may have fixed it up.
I'll tell my story again: In 1972, Richard Nixon was re-elected by a landslide, even as Watergate loomed on the horizon. One commentator suggested that America preferred a smart crook over an honest fool. Ever since then, if somebody prefers to be seen as an honest fool rather than a smart crook, I take his word for it.
Cases in point: Donald Trump and ICANT.
