Did everyone have enough to eat? Is the family ok? Did your team win?
quote: Then there's the time a lady was picking through the frozen turkeys at the grocery store, but couldn't find one big enough for her family. She asked a stock boy, "Do these turkeys get any bigger?" The stock boy replied, "No ma'am, they're dead."

Remember that there would never have been our Thanksgiving if the Protestant Christians of England had not chased the crazy Puritan nutjobs out of the country. That is certainly something England and Europe should be thankful for but I still wish they had chased them to Canada or Australia or India instead of here.

Didn't those nutjobs start Massachusetts? Didn't other nutjobs start Maryland? Isn't another nutjob from New York President? Edited by Pressie, : No reason given. Edited by Pressie, : No reason given.

Yes. And Pennsylvania was started to house yet a different flavor of nuts. Virginia though was founded purely on the principle of exploitation while Georgia was just a place to house criminals.

We had our Thanksgiving in October. It isn't that we're more thankful than Americans; it's just that we have more to be thankful for in October than in November. We're still thankful for not being Americans. Our team lost the semi-final so they're not going to the Grey Cup.

I grew up in Australia, which pretty much started as a place to house criminals. Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

A Giant Bowl Of Cereal
They call America a melting pot. I see it as a giant bowl of cereal. Filled with fruits, nuts, and flakes. Ben Franklin wanted the turkey to be the national bird rather than the Bald Eagle. Maybe if the turkey had become the national bird, there would be no turkeys getting killed every year. Wonder what we would have eaten then? Chance as a real force is a myth. I'm not American. I amended a report I had to finish on the 24th according to the original contract. Thanks for asking.

The Purity Of Puritans

I learned something new. One would think I would have learned this history years ago, but I never paid much attention to it. The Congregationalists and the Presbyterians, eh? Interesting! Its funny how tradition influences people even today. We have customers just coming back from out of town who nevertheless simply *have* to buy a turkey and have their own dinner. Seems Thanksgiving is a celebration of Gods blessing and bounty upon peoples lives--at least for many. Others skip the prayer unless their team happens to be losing. Chance as a real force is a myth. Or maybe it's a celebration of God's grudge against turkeys.
