The Topsy Turvey World Of Modern News
Usually, I laughed at Alex Jones and the conservative conspiracy theories which he espoused. I could see that he earned a decent living broadcasting the trash and innuendo that he did, and considered him too far to the right. I also seek the truth in the news and yet am unafraid to listen to every source for comparison and contrast.
Jones latest commentary appears to show a side of him that is puzzlingly honest and genuine, however. He actually believes in a globalist agenda and comes across as honestly defending the hypothesis.

I judged this presentation with an admitted bias...I assumed that Jones was not simply full of it...he actually believes what he broadcasts.

Left Right Left
I used to think it was all so simple. The Left and the Right. Two philosophies, two contrasting ideologies. Now, however, I see the Left behaving at times like the Right and visa versa. I am puzzled as to what, if anything, is the proper philosophy or path with which to believe and support.
Add by Edit:
As I examine my own bias and beliefs, I find that I actually agree that there is
a movement to bring down the American middle class...whether we have done it to ourselves or whether it is and was being done to us.
I'm not entirely clear as to what or who it is whom I oppose, but I find myself agreeing more and more with the populists whom I used to laugh at. I don't want a bunch of educated elitist science technocrats determining a global future where all of the masses have an opportunity at my personal expense.

Re: The Topsy Turvey World Of Modern News
You should be far more worried about the people who believe Jones than the possibility he might be right about something.
I used to believe that the populists were a bunch of largely uneducated folks couched in fear and a yearning for the glory days of the past. Lately, however...I am beginning to question whether or not the so-called educated elitists really know whats best for the world and whether or not they may actually be the villains in the grand scheme.
I'm not saying that I've sold out to the populists, but I question the result.
(I always did like Obama, however...despite the rhetoric against him...)

Re: The Topsy Turvey World Of Modern News
What Is A Populist?
OK, I know the term. I had to review what it meant in context of what I have been told. The dictionary is quite succinct:
populist
1.
a member or adherent of a political party seeking to represent the interests of ordinary people.
adjective
1.
relating to a populist or populists.
"a populist leader"

The Atlantic had a good article on the term in the context of Trump and today's movement, as ringo reiterated:
What Is A Populist?
quote:
Populists are dividers, not uniters, Mudde told me. They split society into two homogeneous and antagonistic groups: the pure people on the one end and the corrupt elite on the other, and say they’re guided by the will of the people. The United States is what political scientists call a liberal democracy, a system based on pluralismon the idea that you have different groups with different interests and values, which are all legitimate, Mudde explained. Populists, in contrast, are not pluralist. They consider just one groupwhatever they mean by the peoplelegitimate.
Jones does exactly that. He seeks to divide us and them. Granted, many of the moderate/liberals here at EvC portray the far right values as antithetical to reason, which is why I explored the rightwing mindset. It did appeal to me, playing on my fears of losing my God-given spot in society...which is why I started this rant.

Re: Meanwhile
The fact remains that no major station covered Bernie seriously.
So much for the accusations of a liberal media. Perhaps there is a hint of a conspiracy in that the major networks only cover what Jones would say was a globalist agenda---Hillary having been a PC inner circle "liberal" in name only. They market the "products" and people whom they wish to advance. Or am I again being paranoid?

Re: Meanwhile, no liberal media
I've heard that "conspiracy theory" before. Is it really true? Do oligarchs control global media? Is there no way to actually hear the truth in raw form anymore?
