Re: steps to help alleviate the illegal alien problem
Not just end the drug war; make all the drugs legal, nationalize drug production and sourcing, give the drugs away for free in neighborhood health clinics where users can get health care and counseling along with their drugs.
It is hard to make a profit selling illicit drugs when they are available free at Federally run clinics.
That would certainly end at least the US contribution to the drug violence issue.

If I recall the bizarro world of Revelation interpretation correctly, the AntiChrist and his policies will be welcomed. What most fundies don't understand is the implication that they are the ones who will welcome him.

And our geese will blot out the sun.

You don't mention any proposals for how to deal with it so just presenting the problem tells us nothing.
And of course the Rio Grande is only part of the whole border, most of which is quite straight. I'd guess the straight parts is where they'd start the wall.
The biggest point is that a complete "beautiful" wall along the entire border would be a monumental waste of money that could be spent elsewhere. I would suspect that if we took just 1/100th of the cost of wall and used that to fund standard border patrols it would be much more effective per dollar spent.
This isn't a debate over securing our border. This is a debate over how to best spend tax dollars.

People were coming into my yard so I put up a fence across the front of my yard. That will keep them out.
