Re: Coming back for the Reaping of Life
quote:
You added the utter nonsense in brackets, like substituting science (a concept foreign to any of the authors of the Bible stories) for knowledge.
Brackets signals that this is an editorial clarification.
Now if you want to say SCIENCE is not a synonym of KNOWLEDGE say so.
However. Thesaurus.com has as a synonym for SCIENCE - you guessed it -
"body of knowledge" See Thesaurus.com
Also included as synonymous words/expressions to the noun SCIENCE as INFORMATION -
quote:
info
inside story
instruction
intelligence
KNOWLEDGE

[my bolding]
Open mouth and change feet jar.
If this is your strongest example of me ADDING to the Bible, editorial brackets, I don't have anything to worry about.
What else you have ?
quote:
In fact the vast majority of the content of the Bible you market is stuff that is added to try to make the Bible fit the dogma of your cult.
EXAMPLES, SPECIFIC EXAMPLES PLEASE - OF ... ADDING to the TEXT of the Bible.
Put up or shut up.
quote:
And again, this is still just another example of you trying to con the rubes, move the goal posts, change the subject and avoid dealing with the topic.
Dodge and excuse noted.
Weak example noted.
Another lying accusation from jar, yea, noted.

Re:
quote:
The humorous part is you thinking you have a clue what might be in such a book if it existed and your continued attempts to just market the dogma of your cult rather than addressing the topic.
That passage is about the LAST JUDGMENT of all the dead human beings who come before God's great white throne.
The fact that the last judgment of all the earth's deceased has not YET occurred is not a matter of "failed prophecy".
I don't have to claim knowledge of everything that is written in said book of life. I only have to believe in the consequences of someone's name NOT being recorded in the book of life.
Right?
Right.
And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened;
and another scroll was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by the things which were written in the scrolls, according to their works. (Rev. 20:12)
... and they were judged, each of them, according to their works. (v.13b)
And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. (v.14)
And if anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire. (v.15)
What is important is not that I know or claim to know everything written in the book of life. I am told about the result of something NOT written there, ie. a person's name.
And at no time did I insist I KNEW that your name was not there. Put that strawman away.
There is no hilarity associated with me thinking I KNOW everything written there. I never claimed that. And there is nothing amusing, as far as I can see, about being warned that it is best to have one's name recorded there.
That is unless you prefer eternal departure into a lake of fire. That can't be good.
quote:
I don't think Revelation is a lie, just that it is all simply failed prophecy that refers to events the author expected to occur almost 1900 years ago.
Name me one failed prophecy from the book of Revelation then.
Events that have not YET occurred as prophesied is not an example of the book's "failed prophecy".
Point out - HERE'S the prophecy in Revelation.
Point out - HERE'S the failure for that prophecy to be fulfilled in history.
Your next post please.

And I have said that if you want to do that, you open another thread called 'the meaning of man in the universe' - not in this thread or in the bible forums. That's how it works.
The way it works with me is talk about Christ's second coming here which is very much related to the climax of human history and the meaning of life.
If you can't see that Christ's second coming is so related to the meaning of man's creation and history's culmination, you're short sighted and need to be enlightened.
And don't look now, but you preach too - your anti-Christian dogmas.

Self-deception is glorious I can see that.
assertion - preaching.

You're living your own magnificent dream.
preaching - assertion - proclamation.

The tricky thing for me to understand is why you're here watching us pick it apart bit by bit. After all, at some point we might wake you up.
More preaching and calling to others to change their ways.
Proclamation of dogmatic pronouncements with self congratulations.
