Re: What LNA Believes (about religions). I believe we should have a chance to "know God"
Maybe if you stopped nitpicking over every little historical variation and every question raised by any likely or unlikely source, and just focused on a part of the Bible that you feel you can trust to tell you truth about the nature of God, spend time thinking and praying over it with the Bible closed, you might "have a chance to 'know God'" as you claim you'd like to do. Criticizing Christians for supposedly "worshiping" the Bible, which we don't, is just one of the ways you make it impossible to know God yourself. I had strong personal experience of God before I knew a lot about the Bible, which I attribute to His protection of me during my rather wild period of seeking. The Bible is necessary for correcting errors though so you can't dispense with it.
It helps to know enough about God to trust that He has the power and the will to oversee the canonicity of His word so that no matter how much dispute about this or that we can find in history we believe that the final product is in His will. (There is an exception to this in my opinion but I don't want to get into a side issue here)

Re: What LNA Believes (about religions). I believe we should have a chance to "know God"
The fact is that there is not one canon but rather many different canons and as I pointed out, the ONLY books that are common to ALL of the Christian Canons are the first five books of the OLD TESTAMENT and none of the New Testament is common to all Christian Canons.
Not only are there different canons there are bogus "original manuscripts" of the Bible too, even the very earliest ones. There are heretics in every generation who influence such things, but God has preserved His word nevertheless. Our job is spiritual discernment. If you regard all those products as equal you are certainly going to be utterly unable to reoognize the truth.

There are prison ministries all over the country that have converted many who were already in prison. Are you taking those into account? And how do you know how many Christians there are anyway? Is it what they checked off on a form? Meaning a lot of them are probably "Christian" just because they were born in America (or Canada) and otherwise have no clue about the religion?

Trying to bring up the No True Christian argument again?
You were talking about God's changing hearts, giving as an example of unchanged hearts all the "Christians" in prison. He changes the hearts of true believers in Christ, ringo, not people who know nothing of any of that but just thinki they are Christians because of where they were born. That's pretty obvious, so stop with the nonsense.

Good GRIEF you've got it twisted! God changes BELIEVERS' hearts. What else could that mean? This is absurd. That's what being a Christian means! God has changed your heart. If he hasn't then you are not a Christian.
