I am not an agnostic or religious in the way you understand it
I fully understand how god works if you took every sin in the bible seriously you wouldn't have much of a life I believe that you are responsible for what you say and what you write and are held accountable for such. you shouldn't spend too much time worrying about sinning you'll just get depressed the first will be the last and the last will be the first.

I always saw it as God knowing everything that would happen simply because He was at every moment in time when a decision was being made. I am curious, do you think of god as recording every word and deed of every person as well as all their thoughts? It would be kind of like the NSA with phone calls except billions of times more data. And then god crunches all that data down to a number and if the number is above some arbitrary point, off to heaven after you die, below that point to hell with you. What if Eleanor Roosevelt had wings? -- Monty Python One important characteristic of a theory is that is has survived repeated attempts to falsify it. That's an interesting analogy. Let's play with it a moment. Using the analogy, let's talk about forgiveness of sins. Let's say for example that the specific sin being considered was pride and partiality---thinking of myself (or my country or my political party or my religion) as better than others. Let's say that I knew that this was a sin and repented and prayed about it often. Upon my death, God may look at all of the data and see whether my overall intention was to renounce it or preserve it...making a judgment at that point of examining all of the data.
Just a thought.Chance as a real force is a myth. It has no basis in reality and no place in scientific inquiry. Using the analogy, let's talk about forgiveness of sins. Ok, but I suspect that there are huge variations in what people consider sins that they feel guilty about. I don't know what partiality is, but if I commit this sin but never recognize it as something I have done or should feel guilty about or repent and you do, that simply puts us on an uneven playing field when we are being judged for reward or punishment.
Upon my death, God may look at all of the data and see whether my overall intention was to renounce it or preserve it...making a judgment at that point of examining all of the data. To me this seems so silly to think that our personal behavior and our very thoughts would be noticed by a Universe creating and managing deity and that it would consider it important to punish "sinners." My question is simpler though. Do you think god has some method of recording all our actions, everything we say and everything we think for our whole lives, for all of the billions of us that ave lived? I find myself unable to believe the above is possible, not even considering the possibility that god also created and controls the workings of the Universe, from the scale of super clusters of galaxies down to the Planck Scale. What if Eleanor Roosevelt had wings? -- Monty Python One important characteristic of a theory is that is has survived repeated attempts to falsify it. To me this seems so silly to think that our personal behavior and our very thoughts would be noticed by a Universe creating and managing deity and that it would consider it important to punish "sinners." Think of it as a form of spiritual autophagy. In our bodies, the mitochondria automatically eliminate the ones among them that are inefficient. Sin and judgment are simply the way that the human species is ensured of becoming stronger as we grow and expand within the universe. A person who gives in to sins is too weak to teach, encourage, and help others nevermind his own species. Perhaps thats how Hitler justified killing the Jews, though...I'm not suggesting that this whole argument is so simplistic.
Do you think god has some method of recording all our actions, everything we say and everything we think for our whole lives, for all of the billions of us that ave lived? It may help to hypothesize the need for, limitations of, and philosophical relationship with God as understood. What would be the specific function of such a leader? (not that we humans can define or make up such a concept, but hypothetically to foster this discussion)Chance as a real force is a myth. It has no basis in reality and no place in scientific inquiry. Sin and judgment are simply the way that the human species is ensured of becoming stronger as we grow and expand within the universe. Sorry, I have no idea what you are trying to say here. I think (but I'm not sure this is what you think) that sin could be defined as the things we feel guilty about in our own minds. So each person sets their own sin standards. Judgement comes after death according to religious people, so how does that make living people stronger?
A person who gives in to sins is too weak to teach, encourage, and help others nevermind his own species. Ok, this puts us back in the position of deciding what is sin for someone else. I suppose that our life experiences have been so different that we would find little agreement about what we each consider sins.

It may help to hypothesize the need for, limitations of, and philosophical relationship with God as understood. What would be the specific function of such a leader? Again, I have no idea what you are saying here or how it answers my question. What if Eleanor Roosevelt had wings? -- Monty Python One important characteristic of a theory is that is has survived repeated attempts to falsify it. Sorry for the lack of communication. I often make the basic mistake of assuming that if God exists, He is as I have been taught to imagine Him as. Same with the rulebook.

Why would it have to wait until your death? Why wouldn't God know from the foundation of the earth, long before you were born, every choice you were going to make? Why wouldn't He be able to add up all of the data on Day Zero and know from then what He was going to do with you after your death? Upon my death, God may look at all of the data and see whether my overall intention was to renounce it or preserve it...making a judgment at that point of examining all of the data. And our geese will blot out the sun.

do you know anyone with cancer? At my age I've known and loved some with this and a lot worse, but, this has nothing to do with my response to you.
can you write a reply without being childish, sarcastic or unfeeling? Depends. Remember, ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions.
again I'm doing my best Not good enough. Go ahead and believe what you want but stop with the crazy fantasies. Maybe your god will disappear, maybe she won't. But if she doesn't leave you I'm pretty sure she would appreciate you finally acknowledging the reality she built that you have spent so much effort to deny. Edited by AZPaul3, : No reason given. I have cancer which recently traveled into my head (brain) and last week I finally found the cure for it within Rev 10
I call it the story the angel who has his back to me because of how I place things in the Bible the angel is stood with right leg in the sea and his left leg on the land symbolic of how a crab lives? next it tells you to take the small scroll and eat it, it will taste sweet as honey but turn sour in your stomach? crab apples do this, hence the two crabs? I was around at a friends telling him the latest when it hit me 'the seed of the apple', that was seven days ago my head feels completely normal take this twice a day (like the tides) a taste of honey (half a teaspoon) the seeds of an apple crushed wait an hour then take half a teaspoon of bicarb in water ( I take the bicarb with an efforvesant multivitamin) so in my eyes its a fact, I still have lumps in all my muscles but they are reducing in size all the timeyes I don't have proof for the snake bite cure, but there have been cases of high volt low amp shocks working. I am quite sure that if someone looks into it its the high voltage back to the negative terminal of the circuit that will work, in that it polarizes the venom. Edited by Son of Man, : too much personal infothe first will be the last and the last will be the first.
