It just gets stranger and stranger and more and more hypocritical. This one just made me say "Wow" over and over again.

... it's a shame and a waste that someone spent a life sanctimoniously denouncing people just like him. That would be awfully specific of him. As a matter of fact, I don't recall any fundie denouncing this. And there's nothing in Leviticus ...

Conservative Blogs tell a different story
The Local Newspaper was quite discreet initially, and a Fighting Fundamental Forums a blog I found on the net, is much more tactful regarding the story. Note the picture of the church...how conservative Americana it looks. This has gotta shake the fundies as they read the actual police reports. What type of message does it send, however? Are leaders any less apt to have secret fetishes than are members of a church? Personally, Im guessing that the Reverend had some unresolved issues in his past and was using the time that his wife was away to "play" and act out what must have been a traumatic experience of his youth.

Personally, Im guessing that the Reverend had some unresolved issues in his past and was using the time that his wife was away to "play" and act out what must have been a traumatic experience of his youth. Sheesh. Or simply enjoying what would have fine if he didn't have the Fundie hangups and could have participated in an open and accept way with safety considerations included. The only tragedy here is that his religious hangups pushed him towards secrecy and that resulted in his death.

Its not normal to want to indulge in anal sex. The Reverend was probably raped as a youngster...probably by a man. I agree with Jar in that he repressed his sexuality...yet maintain that he was likely molested as a youth in order to even develop such weird fetishes.

I agree with Jar in that he repressed his sexuality...yet maintain that he was likely molested as a youth in order to even develop such weird fetishes. Most of the fetish that seems to be described doesn't sound massively weird to me. The magnitude of its execution is really the only weird thing, and it would be the most naive psychology to interpret that to mean he must have been child molested.
