Ned, Orangutan and the angry young dino
There was an old buffer named Jar,
Who made a peaceful wave,
He suffered the fundy guitar,
And argued against those who save,
he found a good solace in nature,
and was wise to learn all his life,
but the fundies have cracked his pasture,
so now he's at home with his wife.
The pressure of Phat's inedible rants,
wore him down to his underpants,
he raised his white flag when Ned jumped ship,
and now he's at home with his walnut whip.
We will miss his calm and friendly stance
And Ned too, and Omni, now I take a glance,
For they were three of the great ignorance-stabbers.
So have a drink on mikey, u three goodly babas.

Angry young dino?
We will miss these guys if they have in fact gone. I suspect that it is a conspiracy to force other administrators into a more active role and to do some work around here!
Jar is quite simply irreplaceable. I only hope that he decides to come back as a member, because his presence is well loved.
Omni was someone whom I did not know too well, but he was a veteran of the school of hard knocks and he often had wisdom and insight on many topics.
Ned was well loved and respected, and when I think of Ned, I think of Quirks and Quarks. Surely he can stay around if only for that one column.
EvC is like a big family, Mike, and those of you who feel the love know what I mean.
To all three of you, we love you and will keep a candle lit in the window.

Hopefully they'll be back.
We've lost a few creos too - Faith in particular.
Poor old NJ, smart as he is, is often left struggling to hold the fort!

We didn't so much lose Faith as got rid of her.
In the cases Mike refers to it was an entirely voluntary action on the part of all 3 admins.

Percys Reply
Percy has replied to any questions here regarding the Thanksgiving Day events. The fact that these guys are welcome to return at any time eases my concerns of any divisive issue.
EvC is a vision that all of us are part of. We don't need Moses to lead us to the promised land. We are quite capable of walking there ourselves.

Angry young dino?
Oh that's omni - I nicknamed him that on some thread ages ago.
There are a lot of admins at this site now I think about it. I've lost count. There are still good admins.
AdminShraff on the other hand. Oh dear! She let down the female species. She seems to use her account to have private debates in proposed topics.

All by my lonesome
Hopefully they'll be back.
Indeed.

Heh...
*sings - "All by myself"*
When I was young
I never needed anyone
and making {theistic arguments on EvC} was just for fun
those days are gone
livin alone
I think of all the friends I've known
when i dial the telephone (Jar, Faith, Omni, Iano, Ned, and Rob)
nobodys home
all by myself
don't wanna be
all by myself any more
hard to be sure
sometimes I feel so insecure, sometimes so sure
and loves so distant and obscure
(yet, Jesus ) remains the cure
all by myself
dont wanna live all by myself anymore
when i was young
i never needed anyone
and making (theistic arguments on EvC) was just fun
those days are gone
oooohhhoooooooohhhhhhoooooooo

Your still part of the crew. If it's any consolation, I don't care what your ideology is, so your the same as everyone else to me. I'm sure many feel the same as me.

Nice poem, Mike.
And yeah, this is really upsetting. Man... is anybody staying?
I hope they haven't really left for good. I suppose time will tell.

Ferret brain activity increased just 20 percent when looking at Keanu Reeves compared to looking at darkness, the study found.

Oh man, I didn't know that Jar had left.
He is one of the few creationists who I thought I could get on with. Luckily, he was silly enough to give me his personal email address before he left, so I hereby threaten to spam him until he returns.
Mick

I always thought that Jar was a deist i.e. he believed that a higher being of some sort set the laws of the universe (including evolution) in motion and then dissapeared.
I don't know what the official definition of creationist is, but I didn't think that belief in evolution could co-exist with belief in creationism...

It's Tony!
Good to see you've stayed around here Tony.
....This could be an admin experiment, to see how posters react to abandonment in an orderly system. Who's knows. Lol.

Why not? I am a cosmological creationist in that I believe that the universe was created...but as far as the earth is concerned, I defer to the evolutionists for now.

I always thought that Jar was a deist i.e. he believed that a higher being of some sort set the laws of the universe (including evolution) in motion and then dissapeared.
jar is a Christian who believes that the Bible is a map, not the terrain. His account has God creating the universe, with no end in sight, but loving the outcome nevertheless. A simplification but he likened it to a father having a child. He doesn't physically create the child, but he loves whatever comes out all the same.
I don't know what the official definition of creationist is, but I didn't think that belief in evolution could co-exist with belief in creationism...
Young earth creationism (YEC) is incompatible with natural history, rather than evolution per se.

Re: It's Tony!
Yes, it's me. Heh, why do I have that effect on people?
Anyway I'm always around. I just don't talk much. Well... I don't post much... but when I do I talk plenty.
And what can I say? I hope you're right about that Admin experiment idea. I can't say I like the odds but I can hope. Every time I've returned during the last 24 hours I've learned that somebody else has left. I really hope they'll reconsider. Especially jar... this place won't seem the same without him. He was very active here both as a regular poster and an admin. Who's going to protect us from whale snot now?
