Thanks for posting those. Some spectacular shots of the effects of the Great Flood.
I'm curious what pictures four, five and eight are.
ABE: Eight must be an area of the hoodoos, what a spectacular formation that is. Looks like a castle with depictions of all its royalty carved around it.

Because magic water can do anything.
I'm curious what pictures four, five and eight are.
Number 4 is one of the remains at Wupatki. Evil Atheists claim that these are buildings constructed by Native Americans some time around the twelfth century, but if you want to ascribe it to magic water ... well, we've already established that magic water can do anything.
Number 5 is Coal Mine Canyon, a little-known but extremely pretty canyon. My pictures of it don't really do it justice.
Number 8 is indeed a bunch of hoodoos --- at Bryce Canyon, so this is a formation you've already been spectacularly wrong about.

Well, water can't carve locomotives, or is that a dwelling that just happens to look remarkably like a locomotive?.
But it can lay down strata from which some spectacular effects can later be carved by natural forces. That hoodoo castle is spectacular. I've never seen that particular shot before.

You take a good photo Dr A - what camera were you using ?

Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?

Nice shots Dr. A.
A friend told me about Coal Mine Canyon near Tuba City. I ran out of time on my last 2 trips and did not get to see it. Maybe next time.
We did stop and look at the dinosaur tracks and bones west of Tuba City and then one of the guides there took us to see some truly amazing Navajo petroglyphs. I have never seen so many in one place before.
Thanks for posting.

You don't say which image you're referring to. Is it this one:
If so, then I'm curious why you ask if it's a dwelling. Are you unable to make out the shaped rectangular stones that make up the walls?
I have a couple extra pair of reading glasses sitting here on the desk, and if I put them both on over the pair I'm already wearing then the weathered structure does indeed have an outline a bit like a locomotive, and I can't make out a single brick.

I'm only talking about the dark object, which struck me right away as a locomotive shape, and still does. What is it?

In the middle?
That's a bit of wall, floor and ground, in shadow. Here is a fully lit shot of the same building from closer up.

Yes, I saw the footprints too. Coal Mine Canyon is well worth seeing --- the ride there is also very pretty as I recall. Do it next time.
